About This File

ATV 1900 PRO upgrade to Android version 7.1

This is a beta version as we had to build this ourselves without the normal support through regular channels. This will not move passed BETA, so you may encounter minor issues with certain programs, but we currently have no known issues at the moment.

Difficulty level - 3/5

This will not work on the 1900. It is meant for the 1900 PRO.

Notable features:

-Updates from Android 5.1 to 7.1 for better support.
- New Home Screen
- Added Dual Boot Option to Libreelec
- Added Super User Support

****DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE TO 7.1 THROUGH THE OPERATING SYSTEM. IT WILL POTENTIALLY BRICK YOUR DEVICE***

This update must be done using the below method only.

NOTE: Processing this Firmware upgrade will wipe all your Data

How to process the steps:

1. Download the zip file
2. Format your MicroSD Card to FAT32
3. Unzip the files into a folder on your computer before moving to step 4.
4. Drag and drop files from Unzip folder to root of your MicroSD card.  (unzip files to the main part of the card, not in a folder)
5. Insert sd card with files into the 1900 PRO SD card slot
6. Connect HDMI, turn the TV on
7. Hold the Reset button at the back.
8. Hookup power while holding down Reset, via pin
9. Hold for 15 seconds

10. The front side lights should blink red to green repeatedly if the upgrade process has started properly.

you will see the android guy moving, give it 5 -10 minutes and it should bring you to the 7.1 setup screen.

I'd sure like to find out from the support team how this issue will be resolved. I've owned my 1900Pro for only about a year and now its a paperweight.
I've looked into the AMLogic Flash tool, countless youtube videos and finally USB Burning tool. All of which requires an actual ROM to flash it back to life. Which for the life of me cannot find anywhere.  So I am not even sure the USB Burning tool would work as there doesn't seem to be a defined USB port for flashing. None of the SD card updates (or backdates for that matter) work, I've spent probably a week worth of time trying to resolve this.
Is it possible to send it to get it fixed?
I posted 3 weeks ago and nothing.

Hi. I also started to have the "no hdmi output" issue. Mine also seems bricked now! I have tried to install the latest firmware from this post... tried the factory reset about 100x. About 3 times the front LEDs flashed, but then nothing (more than 30 minutes)... and still nothing, bit a light blue screen on the tv.  Now every time I plug it into the power the green light comes on - with occasionally the LAN lights flashing on and off... but further nothing at all.

Before I now waste more time on this, do I need to replace the unit?

Hello. I downloaded the new firmware and copy on a micro SD as explained.  Now I feel a little cold about doing the update. Most of the latest comments posted here are about bricked devices after doing it and it's been a while since a response had been posted from the support team. Is there anything that can be done if the device gets bricked? Thanks in advance.

Good evening,

I tried to perform the update tonight, following the instructions provided. When I plugged back the power cord, while holding the Reset button for at least 15 seconds, the Lollipop picture appeared, followed by a DOS window, where I was ask to take action. My options were something like this:

Reboot system now

Apply update from EXT

apply update from cache

apply update from Data

wipe data/factory reset

wipe cache partition

burn the keys

can anyone tell me what I should do from here?

Support would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot.

Please read the topic on OS 7.1.2  it is ( beta ) firmware which means if you brick it. there is no assistance specially if you are out of warranty.
you can report it but there is no more development for this model from official manufacture.

The other day I decided to download without reading any reviews. At first I ran the 495 pro firmware as that is what the system information pages told me it was prior to checking the bottom.  Initially I thought I had bricked it. So I downloaded the firmware from this page. As on the bottom of the machine. It read 1900 pro.   That didnt work either.   So after multiple attempts. I thought I had bricked it.   I gave it one last try. And right after the 15 seconds and the lights stopped flashing.  I unplugged the hdmi cord. And plugged it back in.  The install screen was visible. But at 1/4 size.  Which was weird.  It completed the install.  But once again. Appeared to be bricked. Nothing on the screen.   But something was different.   There was a red light beside the green.     Once again. I unplugged the hdmi. And plugged it back in.   Finally!  I found the solution. Atleast for me.  It works great now.

that means you bricked the box, try to find your invoice and if it is under a year create your RMA Request ticket for assistance.  http://help.mygica.tv

With all the bricked 1900pro devices and a sad discussion with the support person I doubt I would ever buy a MyGica again.  Calling this firmware a beta just get them out of trouble having to potentially replace our bricked units. OF COURSE people are going to try to upgrade their device. But when a good portion of them get bricked no matter that they followed the instructions to the letter and MyGica just shrugs and says "hey its a beta, and its an old device, that's the risk, not our problem".  How about releasing firmware that doesn't brick an otherwise decent but overpriced android box? Or even a fix for the ones that did get bricked? Fix YOUR mistake!
Zero QA on this firmware and I am out $140 CAD the thing was just over a year old.
Too bad it had to end this way.

I use version 1900pro  , android 5.1 version.

In time watch TV and try to switch the channel ,  suddenly  black screen.

I try on/off no way ! So I unplug/plug but never the box coming to normal, he remain in phase of ,,seeing and believe,,

So last hope reset from factory, so it's working now.

I wonder where this comes from, if it can be repeated!
I contacted the support for about two days, at the time of the incident but no answer.
I've had it for about three years, and I've reset it twice, including the incident.
I'm not thinking about the upgrade so as not to upset it. In addition, the support is not so present, so I have to take the risk 100%.
What interests me are the possible causes that caused this incident.
Did this happen to anyone else? What are the opinions about this incident.

At first I'm hesitant in doing the upgrade after reading their feedback but I Followed Instruction carefully and update went successful. Just wondering why others bricked their unit.

SAF but I managed to do it. Nearly thought I had bricked 'errxr' until I changed sd card for usb stick. Let it reboot, it gave out some kind of encouraging progress, I went to make a cup of coffee, heard the crackle come from the projector as it listened on the hdmi over the 80s speaker system. And there it was. Powerful good lookin but uhhh... ok.

No Eshare.

Hi guys, I followed the instructions exactly and  it seems my device is now bricked. I have tried all means to reboot - including a hard reset and using the boot card with files to revert to  the original OS - no joy. The screen remains black - no video output. The green light is on and there is power glowing to spdif but other than that, nothing.

Pretty disappointed as the box was working well.

Any suggestions?

Same here with mine

Just wanted to say I followed the instructions to the letter and it worked fine. Was also a bit worried reading all the comments about people that bricked their devices but mine worked perfectly.

After contemplating for this upgrade, I decided to do it...

I noticed when navigating on 7.1, the tv would go on black screen and would go back within 5~15 seconds, and after that it would go to black again frequently.  There are times that it does not.  This happens a lot though while on Kodi 20.  So I figure out it's not Kodi's issue but this 7.1 firmware. Also I need to reset HDMI input or connection to this mygica box everytime I restart or turn ON this box as I would only get a black screen with green LED on the box.

Also, what is the red LED which is the LAN connection is always red even though I am online and wired.

Would appreciate if I can get away with the intermittent black screens as it is very inconvenient during movie time...

So I am from Canada,I followed steps correctly and ended up with the black screen.Very annoying! Anyway tried and tried to get it working nothing would work.Out of desperation,(I had remembered I had to do this on a different box) I shorted the nand  flash, and voila it came back to life.So I know this is an old thread but hopefully may help someone.Couldn't tell you exactly what pins to hit, since I just kinda got in there and touch all pins with the tip of screw driver.Just google shorting nand flash, don't think there is any info on this particular box but same idea .Good Luck.

Ok, so I dont think it was the nand flash.I believe it is a HDMI issue. I turn box on,tv kinda senses signal, buit no picture on screen.I unplug HDMI from back of box plug back in and bam it working.Tried with 2 different cables and 2 different inputs with same rersults

Another update. So I was frustrated with having to unplug and replug every time,  so I installed (1900Pro_5.1_March_24_New_Boot). This brought me to back to Lollipop. No more HDMI issue. Then I dont know why but I tried to reinstall (stvm9-atv1900pro-V20181129). Could not install, hold in reset button while applying power, would not work.Tried getting into recovery, holding on/off button while applying power, just would not work.So I started pulling my hair out, that did not work.So finally I installed "Terminal Emulator for Android". Entered the command "reboot recovery" without quotes, and she rebooted to recovery. From there I rebooted, and low and behold the "stvm9" file installed,no more HDMI issue(sort of).So I f'ed around with the box setting it up installing some apps.Turned it off then when I turned it back on the system language changed to south korean.WTF. Got my phone out ,google lens, to translate, added english, removvd korean, but on next start same thing. This f'ing box is driving me nuts.Quick search of google, and what you have to do is go into settings,Hdmi cec and turn off auto change Language. OMFG. Anyway so far so good, now hopefully I can figure out how to root.Hope this helps someone.
