I bought an ematic Netflix box. It's got android tv9. Google certified and also Netflix certified. Surprisingly has the same specs as my 495max, yet running Android 9 and certified for all the stuff a person needs. Stopped wasting my time with this brand though. They were once very good--and had regular updates and actually cared about aftersales. I have had 3 of there boxes in the past. The 495 max is sure to be my last. No support, no updates, no development.

Try this fix (copied below) from MyGica for another issue (same product T230C):- I did it and now the tuner is working from hibernate. I agree with what you're saying for the most part except the last sentence. The two 1800e boxes I bought over the past couple months had 5.1 already installed on them. And I think the older models deserve the full right to completely function on 5.1. I personally prefer 1800e over 1900ac because it has the full size sd card slot, specs are minimally different, and it's cheaper. The biggest thing I can't get is how long these things take to fix. And whenever there's a new firmware release that's better than the last it's like a huge breakthrough for mygica. Maybe I don't know enough about the technology, but I think it should really just take weeks to correct issues like this at the most, not months and months. But I agree these boxes should be fully functional to standard upon their purchase. I don't mean to be overly negative about mygica, but I do feel you guys can do things a lot better. Lots of room for improvement. Constructive criticism.

The update is as follows. At first we thought it was wide spread on 1900AC and 1800E, but now after spending a lot of time on this, it is mainly only the 1800E. The issue we are having is the 1800E uses a different chipset then the 1900AC and also a different PCBA Layout, including the power layout. This is basically what is causing the issue, we had something similar on the 1900 PRO and 495 PRO, but were able to fix it. However, the 1800E chipset is very similar to the one in the 1900AC that is why 5.1 works, but just has a standby issue. We are trying to figure out how to fix the power issue without affecting the 1900AC at the same time. I realize this is obviously a problem, as electronics should turn on/off without issue, and I am not ignoring it at all and I have never been silent on the issue either. So that is the current update for now. P.S. - I know this is not normally what people do with electronics, but you can just leave the box on 24/7, and do the occasional reboot. Personally I haven't turned off my box in about 6 months, I just do reboots from time to time. This will temporarily solve the standby issue for now.

We fixed this issue on 1900 PRO and 495 PRO After speaking to my team over the weekend, we cannot fix it on the 1800E/1900AC till after Chinese New Years, since their office closes after tomorrow for 2 weeks. I think once the fix is ready, we will send it OTA. If not, then I will get a how to video explaining how to do it.

Yes we plan to update the firmware for this, to fix the standby power issue.

Once rooted I install NSTools its a free app that lets you change the CPU Scaling Governor. I set mine to interactive its like performance and keeps all cores active but allows the cores to idle lower when not active to reduce heat. When the CPU power is needed they all ramp up. Since i rooted and set to interactive with a min of 600 mhz on interactive the unit is WAY faster. ATV 1960 - Windvine L3 Hi All, I've had the most horrible experience with this product so far, so before I give up completely I'd like to get the advice of more experienced users. Netflix is running at SD quality on no matter what version i use. Despite having a 50/50mbps line. Have tried an ethernet connection as well. Was told that a device categorized by Windvine as L3 will never play 4k content. Firmware: I've been told that there isn't a firmware update, Im on 6.0.1 I'm just looking for the capability to view 4k content, as advertised by MYGICA. Is there something that i can do about this? Programming the k303 Hi there, I have recently purchased 5 of these remotes for various android tv boxes and I really like the remote however it would be amazing to have the proper instructions on how to program the 4 learning buttons and the power button. I have scoured the internet and have found nothing, not even instructions on your own website which I find completely baffling. Why sell a product advertising it’s ability to learn it codes and then not tell anyone how to do it properly. It makes no sense! Even the last post asking this exact question remains unanswered since 2018? Why is this such a big secret. My Gica support staff please respond with valid instructions!

What have you tried, with what, and running which OS on what? Simple (windows or linux with a PC), would be something like Plex Media Server. For free, you can stream content -- movies/music, and watch live TV on your local network. Punch a hole in your firewall, you can do it remotely too. Maybe instead of exposing the server directly with a firewall hole, setup a VPN appliance with WireGuard or OpenVPN. Plex Pass ($5/ month) allows you to record live TV. Works with Roku. I think firestick too. Watch in a web browser on something else. Got phone apps too. Does it work with a mygica A681/A682 USB stick? Dunno. I'll find out next week. Others say at least a few of these products work with TVheadend (Linux/FreeBSD/Android). That's free. Has a ncurses setup that will will you through the install and pretty good documentation. That works with a Raspberry Pi too, but you probably want at least a 3B+ or 4 for that setup for the processor speed. You might also be able to get it working with a MythTV / XBMC / Kodi type setup too. That is a bit more complex, but there is a lot of documentation out there, IF you can get the tuner recognized.

hi Also from Mzanzi. Don't waste your time updating to android 7. I did that and the device froze a couple of times. It was unstable. I ended up going back to version 6. Then, I updated the firmware to android 6.0.1. It does run Showmax and Netflix without problems.

I had the same problem. I used a USB mouse to navigate the initialization menus. Once complete, I went to Settings>More settings>Remote & accessories>remote and simply turned the option "on".

Good morning, there exists some firmware that allows to input video format PAL in the CVBS in? My HD Cap accepts any format entering trough HDMI or YPbPr, but if revenue PAL format trough CVBS, records it in black and white (with NTSC works fine). And my equipments have exits only PAL (I am in Argentina). Thanks for any reply

Hello guys, My Hd cap X is generating a blank video file when it creates the second file for the same record after the first 2gb file is created. This is pissing me off as hits happens every time I try to use it and it is just brand new.

Okay, good. I'm surprised no one else reported this. I was told I was the first which means you're the second. I found a clear noticeable difference upon the first startup on 5.1 seeing the opening mygica animation. Whenever there's fast motion it feels like there's almost frames missing at times. Can't you guys just replicate the settings from 4.4 and transfer them to 5.1? I don't know much about the hardware/software, maybe it's more complicated than I imagine. But I guess they're working on it so will stay tuned for an update.

I understand, and I thank you for your efforts Justin. This reminds me of another situation I am in with my Eye-fi SD card. For those that don't know what they are. They are SD cards with wifi radios in them them so when you take pictures they transfer via wifi to a smart phone and then I back them up in Google photos. But About 6 months ago the company decided to stop sending updates for the some models and basically turned them into just regular SD cards as they do not function without the newer updates. In doing so they lost my business. And I moved to another company that does the same thing. This is not the case here as MyGica has offered options for the older boxes with the Kodi fork 17.0 and has made an effort to update the boxes that they believe can handle 5.1. In doing so, they have ensured that I will go back to them again when it is time to upgrade my android box. So, I will continue to hope for a patch file for for this new firmware, and thank the people that work on it for me, because as you can see above, it doesn't happen like this all the time. Exactly this. I think it's caused by the hotplug and them reducing the 4 cores down to 2. This is not present when all cores are working. If they were to change the profile from hotplug to ondemand or some other similar profile I think it would work

personally i get there is issues with the 1800 5.1 kodi 16.1 upgrade for sum.. how.. im not sure. but for me an the 10 or so boxes i have done for friends n family. some were stubborn n some went quick, over all at the end of day they all work an work great. ive tried the 17.1 upgrade on my own 3 1800s at home and have put them back to 16.1. i feel its smoother an faster but non the less they both work. if urs is crashing off stand by. stop using it an just let the unit b at idle. its not costing or hurtin anything.. also need not forget this is a free site and after your 1 time purchase cost of the box.. your watching something you would normally pay for.. thanks to all that help make this possible.. with out the team that brings the software to the public at no cost.. we would still be paying for it..

I have heard from a few people that the 5.1 beta that is listed in the video posted here, does not seem to have the audio passthrough issues that the new 5.1.1 release has. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I am planning on trying it. It can't be worse than what I have now. I will post back once I have tested it with kodi 17, however it could be next weekend before I have time to do it.

Thank you for the info! I have a 1800e running Jarvis 16.0 and KitKat 4.4 , everything working great! I am waiting for a stable Auto System update. Hopefully My Gica will release one in the near future for 5.1 so I don't have to go through all the problems associated with the last release. I hope someone will let me know when this happens. I am very happy with the box and thankful for the work being done! I have only had the box 2 years (pd. $200) so I hope a fix is released soon. Thanks again!

Hi I have a mygica 586 with 4.4 firmware. I am having problems with KODI Jarvis. I want to upgrade KODI to version 17 KRYPTON. there are various people with great ideas on youtube to do this. first install a few apps OK no problem Upgrade firmware to 5.0 this I am having problems with. KODI 17 will not be compatible unless 5.0 is installed. Also there is a parsing error I am stuck. have worked a few nights on this getting no where. any help would be appreciated. or should I get another box? and which one?

This has to be the WORST Mygica product ever. This shit works slower than my 520e which is now in the garbage. SLOW to boot now missing frames, stuck on movies..This 1900AC sucks the bag. I can't believe that Mygica charges a premium for this crap. This should be under $100 for this piece of shit. Support is non existent. Wheres the firmare to undo this hotplug bullshit. This product is suppose to be 4 cores not 2 which are in use in Kodi. Why are the other 2 cores not used? Please don't tell me its to prevent overheating cause then don't advertise the product as 4 cores. I'm paying more for less?!

As I recall the root patch froze during the installation. I pulled the power connector on the back and inserted it again after about 10 seconds or so. The unit powered up to the home screen, I checked to see if the unit was rooted and it was. FBN

I have noticed that if I clear the cache from the home screen using the broom/rocket thing before going to standby then I don't have any issue when I start it up next.

Ok now I'm starting to get upset. I did some research. Previous versions didn't like having both wired and WiFi connected. So I made sure wired network was not connected. The 1900AC is useless in WiFi as it keeps disconnecting. I have to disable Wifi and reenable it to re-establish the connection all the freakin time. This is the 3rd post on this matter with no response what so ever. Buy another box from another brand. I was hoping 5.1 would make this box more stable but no success so far. I have a 582 that I love, no issue with it but just not as much CPU and Mem as I wished. I went for a 1800. The 1800 running Android 4.4 is the golden years of the MyGica. Flawless. Then I wanted to have another room covered. I went for a 1900AC. That thing is a disaster out of the box. Not reliable what so ever. The only setup I managed to have running relatively stable after countless factory resets is Wired with latest patches. Now I need it to be wireless. I was hoping on 5.1 with no success. The wifi issue makes it useless again and no suggestion or help on the support.

While we are happy to help, the shipping alone on this situation is going to cost a lot of money. As you have spent some time in our forums, you can see that there were some problems with the 1900's that we have since fixed the majority of issues with this update. Your problem however, seems like it may be hardware related, and is very rare. While I understand that this is hearsay at this point, buying electronics overseas or from foreign countries is always not recommended. I purchased an iPhone in the USA and brought it to China while living there for awhile and ran into the same problems that you are. As for what can be done now, if you think that the issue is most likely related to the power pin and you likely won't be sending it overseas for repair, you can try opening it up and soldering the points of the power pin to the board. The pin being loose is usually related to an impact onto the power pin which dislodges the soldering points from the board. If you are feeling adventurous about trying this, PM me and we can go through it together and I can try to help.

5.1 Installed on my 1900AC WiFi Keeps dropping. Also, I can't get rid of the lower keyboard screen when I have a remote or USB connected. The best is a BAR that say to use your keyboard on your device...

Well thank you for the timely response. Your thought about the the value in casting is exactly what I'm hoping to do. I have my 1900 and 582 in different rooms but when I want to go to the rec room to watch something I have to unplug one of the boxes and take it with me. I don't have any experience with any other box but I do use the screen cast option with my Samsung S5 to stream online content to the Chromecast - it works great - it mirrors perfectly! This would be an awesome feature if it were ever made possible. I just don't know if this is a hardware or software restriction. The 1900 sees the Chromecast device but when I try to cast the screen to it, the box freezes and I have to unplug it to reboot. if you ever want anyone to do any testing with this feature, I'm happy to help. Again, thanks for the recent improvements in firmware and support.

Can you guys ever make a firmware that doesn't cause big problems for the end user. Maybe send the Chinese here to work on the firmware if there Government controls what they can do over there. You don't use communist countries that control you internet to set up boxes for North American resale...

Will try and get #1,2 and 3 fixed. As for #4. I have given this to a lot of people without any complaints really.
