  1. @ Kruu and others re: the box not 'waking up' from sleep I have had this issue off and on with the atv582. I am positive it is an issue with the power management software on the box, and the HDMI signal not being fed to my TV at the right time. The 'solution' I have found is a bit of a workaround, but it involves two things: 1 - I turn on my TV (or switch its input to the box) and immediately/within a second or two turn on the box as well. The combination of both my TV searching for a connection and the atv582 waking up at roughly the same time seems to really help them find each other. 2 - I installed SSH droid on the box to enable me to SSH into the system. It runs a SSH server continuously in the background, and the box seems to keep the HDMI signal going. I've had way less black screen since installing this. BEWARE though, if you do install this SSH server software, be sure to change the root password for security purposes. Another thing to try is making sure the box is plugged directly into your TV - see if you get the blank screen issue then. And as always, post back your results here, it's appreciated. As for this forum going dead, yes it would seem so... hopefully Justin is okay. PS here's the link to SSHdroid https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... roid&hl=en PPS - for anyone having specifically 'Kodi' issues (stuttering videos etc) you can try downloading the vanilla version of the Kodi apk from their servers here http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android ... bi-v7a.apk Make sure you first back up and uninstall the 'Mygica edition' that your atv has...
  2. @kicsrules and vike 2 party Re: the google play store not working after the latest update - this is a well known issue that many users have reported, myself included. Credit to user jpmcarthy for finding the workaround, which worked for me: I had this issue as well, and posted a work around a few pages back. Essentially load the 11/-5 firmware which does a factory reset - and then do NOT factory reset and load the March/latest firmware using the 'update' app. You may have to manually remove the old mygica store (you'll have 2 versions) and XBMC as its still hanging around when you do it this way. We could really really use a wiki page or something where updated instructions on common issues can be posted and updated.. As usual, please post back your results here, it is appreciated and really helps other users.
  3. Try using a USB key. Boot the device into the recovery mode, THEN plug in the USB key, wait 10 sec, then try the update. I've never used SD cards, only USB keys, and have never had a problem.. post back your results!
  4. The only file that should be on your SD card is the *.IMG file. In the March 31st (ie latest) FW file, it is 'update_MyGica_1800-582-380_4.4_20150321.img'
  5. Check your overscan settings. First in android itself: - launch the Settings MBOX app, click Display, click Display Position and make sure this is set right for your TV Then launch XBMC and do the same... Go to: Settings ▶ System, Video output, Video calibration... and make sure it is set right for your TV. Probably not the issue but worth a check...
  6. Re: screen going blank etc. I'd be interested to know if this issue is happening when you guys plug your box straight into the TV via HDMI, i.e. no receiver in between? Anyone want to test? Also, with the blank/black youtube - I had this issue on one of the previous FWs. The youtube frame was still there, with sound, but a black rectangle for video.. but when I clicked on the 'full screen' button, the video would pop up and play fine full screen.. weird...
  7. @kasmca Many many thanks for this advice, I have done it and it works! It came up with XBMC 13.2, as others have noticed here. I am currently sticking with this vs upgrading to Kodi v14 b/c if it isn't broken, don't fix it! As it stands, I am now running the 03/21 FW with XBMC 13.2 and a working Google play store, plus both USB slots working. The box does seem a little snappier, and so far my keyboard/airmouse is even mostly detected correctly! Now if I could only get a photo of the 2015 boards I could purchase a bluetooth addon! Thanks again all, saddie
  8. @kasmca and @jurbas I have just updated to the latest 03/21 FW and I am unable to log in to the google play store as well. I did the 11/05 FW update via the built in app, then the 03/21 update via the recovery menu, including a complete reset there and clearing the cache. All done via files off my USB stick. Upgrades seemed to go quite smoothly, other than this issue with the google play store. It's a big issue though. Hopefully one of the devs can chime in here. I'm sure they're busy as heck right now, hence the radio silence.. EDIT: this latest update has also broken support for my airmouse/keyboard combo. I don't know about you guys but I am seriously thinking about moving to another platform, which is too bad because this is my second Mygica product, which I purchased because I liked the first so much. I'm thinking a Raspberry Pi 2 or maybe the Pipo x7s; would give me access to Linux or Windows or possibly a cleaner Android build and bluetooth. Either way this box without the google play store and my keyboard is pretty brutal.. at least both my USB drives are working!
  9. Can anyone post a quick review of this new firmware? Any major changes you've noticed? Do people with the 2015 version have working bluetooth? Can anyone confirm if both USB ports work now? This would be much appreciated!
