I got this as a package deal ATV500,Kr40 remote with a SD card. The KR came with a dead battery, but besides that both remotes will power off the unit,none will wake it up. I have to unplug the power to use it. Any ideas? Because at this point in time I think it is going back...Have set up many ATV520E's never had an issue

The Remote need to be synced, process this step tell me if worked

1. Unhook the USB dongle from ATV500X, while box is turned on ** do not turn off box **

2. Press few button see if the red light flashing

3. Press Left Arrow and Rewind button till light is blinking none stop

4. hookup the USB dongle back to ATV500X

The Blinking should go away and remote works now

let me know how everything goes, and ATV520E would be a better choice since its Android and 500X is only XBMC

the remote works fine for the controls, just neither remote will turn it on,sort of a pain to have to walk across the room and unplug it everytime you want to use it

make sure your about 10 feet or less, if you go further it wont work

3 feet is all I am and nothing,everything but turn it on

all that is fine, I can use either remote once I manually power it up. I can not turn it on with either remote, kind of a pain but I can deal with it

the power button wont turn on the box no, it would turn it off that is all with ATV500X
