Thanks for the feedback

We appreciate it

According to discussions with my team, they will have 17.1 for me next week. But I cannot promise this.

Currently I am testing out Android 5.1 on the ATV 585 + 600 + 586
Still needs some work, and also the TV tuner is deactivated on the 586 in 5.1.
Soon we hope to offer 2 solutions for MyGica users

1. MyGica Media Center 17.1 -  This can be used on almost any Android 4.4 device
2. Android 5.1 OS upgrade for MyGica ATV 586/585/600 - This will allow users to use the official Kodi 17.1 or SPMC 16.6
This will be a beta only release.  However what I am testing right now works well, just needs some changes done to it.

I hope users will be satisfied with the above 2 options.  As this should fulfill everyone's need

Hi Justin,

Any news on the 17.1 fork and the android v5.1 update for the atv 585?

I'm running the kodi 17 fork of mygica but it's not perfect. Would like to run kodi 17.1 or the fork of 17.1 kodi 16 is outdated and slow and full of old bugs that was fixed in 17.1

You guys can try it if you like. We have tested it here and it works well.

It will install as a separate APP from KODI 16.1

This will work on our ATV 1800/582/380/585/586 running Android 4.4

@TeamKodi - If you read this and see there is no source code available, I apologize for this. It will be available within 1-2 weeks, once we finish a newer version based on KODI 17.1
You can email me directly if you have any questions

mygicaMediaCenter20170310.apk

Greetings all

I have tried the Kodi 17.0 fork and it works like a charm on my 582.  Used the version on the link as attached.

Overall, MyGica's are great and to my mind the best Android TV boxes available.

Many thanks to the team at MyGica for this workaround - the effort is much appreciated.

Thanks

Best Regards

-Marius

@JustinI'm not that interested in the Kodi 17 as I find it unstable and confusing, and any time you don't close it properly it resets all kinds of settings and you have to reconfigure the layout all over the place from scratch... so I'm fine with Kodi 16 on ATV585, but I would love to see more stability in terms of video/audio playback (I get audio cutting off every once in a while during movies, even the ones playing off USB or locally downloaded ones - super annoying) and more reliable WiFi settings - some days the box won't even connect to my WiFi and it doesn't matter how many time I turn the WiFi OFF and back ON, it is stuck in the "Turning WiFi On......." step or recognizing the available networks. And rebooting the box doesn't help much either, so if you could fix those two things alone I'd be happy.

I downloaded the suggested original link ; however, when I try to open it get the following message "Safari can't open this file because no available application can open it". I get essentially the same message when I use Chrome. Any suggestions?

Does this fork solution address the current (May 23rd announcement) security issue? The inference from TVADDONS is that you need to upgrade to Kodi 17.3.

I can confirm this works, I have kodi 17.0 running right now.  Pulse build works good.  Follow directions and you should be fine.

Using Ares Wizard, I have downloaded the MyGica Fork 17.0 onto my ATV380. So far, so good.

Could someone clarify the security concern that arose last week as it may impact MyGica Fork. The security issue seemed to pertain to Kodi Krypton, and  the recommendation was  that users upgrade/update to version 17.3. I am wondering how, if at all,  the MyGica fork I have installed may be impacted by this security issue? I am wondering if my current setup is secure.

The security concern is only a concern if you use Sub Titles.

If you do not use Sub Titles, then you are fine.

We have the fork of Kodi 17.1, but once this was done they released 17.2 and then 17.3 a day later
So we are studying 17.3 to upgrade to this version which has the security fix.

Please note I have not fully tested this yet.
So make sure to backup everything before using.

The reason is because you cannot upgrade from MMC 17.0 to this new version of 17.1
I will get this fixed on the next version.  I am not sure why it was built like this.

You have to uninstall MMC 17.0 first and then install this new version of 17.1

I don't find Mygica Media Centre on Play Store

Google is blocking us from uploading it

Been trying for months to get an explanation of this,  but nothing.

It is now on the Aptoide TV Store though

Hello Justin, just wondering on ETA for the latest ver. MMC, I'm still using 17.0. I saw 17.4 was recently released?

This has been put on pause for now, as we are doing lots of other projects instead at this time.

I am not sure when we will re-open this project

We did share the source code from Version 17.0
http://mygica.tv/kodi

So if any developer wants to take on the project to upgrade to 17.4, they are welcome to do so.
