What could be causing this any hints?

Just want to verify few things

This is after a reboot or coming out of standby?

The Wifi is switched from ON to OFF when happens??

When Im done using the box I select power off. Then sometimes when I turn it back on the Wifi doesnt show up, I go to settings and have to toggle it back on.

It does dual band i can confirm that

We use dual band AC in the office without issues on any of the devices that support AC

yes random, i thought it had become every time because the last 3 starts before I posted did it all. Now more testing and seems random but happens for sure.

Even after a factory reset.

Latest firmware.

Ok Justin thanks for taking the time. I will see if I can exchange my unit for a new one. On this end I tried factory reset a few times problem remains.

I hope Canada computers lets me replace it.

I can't think of anything else to try seeing as it's only 1 week old running latest firmware 1.30 and problem happens even after factory reset. Unit was bought brand new even had shrink wrap around the box still. Maybe bad luck. I bought this unit mainly based on Canada computers calling it their best box, seeing that this site with what appears to be very good support.

all that being said thanks very much, if they accept the exchange I will try another 1900pro. Funniest part of this is I opted for the 1900 pro over the 495 pro only cause I wanted good wifi. The hard drive part I don't care for.

Anyway thanks again. I'll report back with my new box.

I'm assuming the wifi on a 1900 pro should be better than 495 pro correct? I believe it's the same box just added features like antennas right?

Try this, forget all wifi networks, connect to a 2.4 ghz ssid, problem will happen. Just did it with a second ATV1900 pro.

I need 2.4 ghz network where I put this box. 2.4 GHZ I can get to with excelent strength and 5 g not so much.

This was supposed to replace a no name unsupported mini MS8 pro 2GB, that has no issues at all, Im a bit dissapointed $200 vs $35 and all these issues.

This ATV1900PRO is better, but the wifi has issues for sure. the second box is an in store demo at a store not mine not at my house and we caused it to do the exact same thing. the employee that was standing beside me said he has many complaints on this.

Please look into it as I like this box alot, but I do need a box that can be on 2.4ghz wifi.

So on my newest box with 1.30 all seems good. I updated I've done approx 30 boots all fine. Don't know why I had issues previous.

Did nothing different on this box (that I realize anyway) but all is good, so it had to somehow be my fault.

Still limited to 20 MHz not 40 MHz channels which I believe is a software limitation but at least it all works.

Please explore 40mhz channel width on 2.4ghz in future if possible

Ok this is good to hear

The moderator "MyGicaSupport" was handling the 20Mhz/40Mhz in a different thread as he is more technical with this then me.
He will respond to you there for it.
