Is there a hard reset button on the 380? I have 'safe mode' in the bottom left corner and can't clear it.

The ON/OFF button is the reset button. Just holding it down will take you into recovery mode.

What are you talking about?   Please elaborate.

 

There is no On/Off button on this particular unit (ATV380), and holding down the power button on the remote only generates a "standby"  or "reboot" option.

 

 No Recovery Mode.

To be clear.  I get that the reset button is also supposed to function as "On/ Off".

 

It does not.

 

Holding the reset button on the unit down, for any length of time, does not provide an option to turn the unit "off".   When you hold it down, you get  two options:.  "Standby"  or  " Reboot".    No "Power Off" option.

 

Again, this is also not gonna get you into " Recovery Mode" either.

Just figured out the solution:

 

(1)Reboot. 

(2) As the unit is coming up, hold the reset button down.    In my case, 15 seconds was long enough to hold it down.

Ok good to hear you figured it out

 

Sorry I forgot to mention to hold it down when you first power up your box to get into recovery mode.
