Looking for how to make an advancedsettings.xml file

The subject line kind of says it all. I'm looking for a easy, step by step way to make an advanced settings file to be able to redirect the buffer from its default 20 meg file in ram to a user-definable size to be redirected to either an SD card or USB to buffer there.

Doable?

I believe if you look around on some sites, there are people who have shared there advancedsettings.xml file

Might save time from writing your own.
