There is an ATV 9.0 Pie firmware for the MyGica ATV 495MAX. Geniatech, MyGica's mother company still sells this same identical box so download the firmware before their link is gone ! https://shop.geniatech.us/download/software-for-geniatech-android-box/

I bought an ematic Netflix box. It's got android tv9. Google certified and also Netflix certified. Surprisingly has the same specs as my 495max, yet running Android 9 and certified for all the stuff a person needs. Stopped wasting my time with this brand though. They were once very good--and had regular updates and actually cared about aftersales. I have had 3 of there boxes in the past. The 495 max is sure to be my last. No support, no updates, no development.

Try this fix (copied below) from MyGica for another issue (same product T230C):- I did it and now the tuner is working from hibernate. Only if you are running Windows 10 64-bit SOLVED I can't edit the main post so if you are reading this, until there's a full official solution with a proper installer, here is how to manually install the working driver. download this: http://mygicasupport.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=4105 Extract the files somewhere (you need to know where they are) Right click "Computer" > Manage > Device Manager > Find your device under "sound video and game controllers" > Right click > Update Driver > Manually search in your computer > Locate the folder > Install Driver > Restart your Computer & research your local DVB-T2 frequency. That's it! it worked for us, hope it works for you. @zxl if possible please either Edit this into the top of the thread or sticky this or something so people could see it when they first go into this thread.

I agree with what you're saying for the most part except the last sentence. The two 1800e boxes I bought over the past couple months had 5.1 already installed on them. And I think the older models deserve the full right to completely function on 5.1. I personally prefer 1800e over 1900ac because it has the full size sd card slot, specs are minimally different, and it's cheaper. The biggest thing I can't get is how long these things take to fix. And whenever there's a new firmware release that's better than the last it's like a huge breakthrough for mygica. Maybe I don't know enough about the technology, but I think it should really just take weeks to correct issues like this at the most, not months and months. But I agree these boxes should be fully functional to standard upon their purchase. I don't mean to be overly negative about mygica, but I do feel you guys can do things a lot better. Lots of room for improvement. Constructive criticism.

The update is as follows. At first we thought it was wide spread on 1900AC and 1800E, but now after spending a lot of time on this, it is mainly only the 1800E. The issue we are having is the 1800E uses a different chipset then the 1900AC and also a different PCBA Layout, including the power layout. This is basically what is causing the issue, we had something similar on the 1900 PRO and 495 PRO, but were able to fix it. However, the 1800E chipset is very similar to the one in the 1900AC that is why 5.1 works, but just has a standby issue. We are trying to figure out how to fix the power issue without affecting the 1900AC at the same time. I realize this is obviously a problem, as electronics should turn on/off without issue, and I am not ignoring it at all and I have never been silent on the issue either. So that is the current update for now. P.S. - I know this is not normally what people do with electronics, but you can just leave the box on 24/7, and do the occasional reboot. Personally I haven't turned off my box in about 6 months, I just do reboots from time to time. This will temporarily solve the standby issue for now.

Considering that upgrading to Kodi Krypton 17.1 is soon to be a necessity (1), I'd say the Mygica team (AMLogic at large) has a responsibility to its customers to produce a stable 5.0 (or higher) image for it's products. 1) https://www.tvaddons.ag/upgrade-kodi-krypton/

We fixed this issue on 1900 PRO and 495 PRO After speaking to my team over the weekend, we cannot fix it on the 1800E/1900AC till after Chinese New Years, since their office closes after tomorrow for 2 weeks. I think once the fix is ready, we will send it OTA. If not, then I will get a how to video explaining how to do it.

Once rooted I install NSTools its a free app that lets you change the CPU Scaling Governor. I set mine to interactive its like performance and keeps all cores active but allows the cores to idle lower when not active to reduce heat. When the CPU power is needed they all ramp up. Since i rooted and set to interactive with a min of 600 mhz on interactive the unit is WAY faster. Hot plug stops cores as much as possible to save power and idles them as low as possible this is not a good setting for a always plugged in and always on android box as the unit uses a power brick and will draw the same power if its on or off. here is the link for what i use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.cyann.nstools&hl=en here is the description of the governors I spoke of : (There are over 100 Governors ) 8: Interactive: Interactive scales the clockspeed over the course of a timer set by the kernel developer (or user). In other words, if an application demands a ramp to maximum clockspeed (by placing 100% load on the CPU), a user can execute another task before the governor starts reducing CPU frequency. Because of this timer, Interactive is also better prepared to utilize intermediate clockspeeds that fall between the minimum and maximum CPU frequencies. It is significantly more responsive than OnDemand, because it's faster at scaling to maximum frequency. Interactive also makes the assumption that a user turning the screen on will shortly be followed by the user interacting with some application on their device. Because of this, screen on triggers a ramp to maximum clockspeed, followed by the timer behavior described above. Interactive is the default governor of choice for today's smartphone and tablet manufacturers. 3: Performance: The performance governor locks the phone's CPU at maximum frequency. 21: Hotplug: The Hotplug governor performs very similarly to the OnDemand governor, with the added benefit of being more precise about how it steps down through the kernel's frequency table as the governor measures the user's CPU load. However, the Hotplug governor's defining feature is its ability to turn unused CPU cores off during periods of low CPU utilization. This is known as "hotplugging."

Hello, I am watching the channels in HD but they are not synchronized audio and video this already knows, after recording a tv program the playback with mx player hardware decoder option the video looks great but if the playback is mx player by Software has synchronization problem. Finally, the problem is the internal player of the padtv that can not play back audio and video. Solution: Playback needs to be external using the best mx player or vlc player. Upgrade with the option of playing live channels using external player such as mx player or vlc player.

So the firmware upgrade from 5.1 to newer 5.1 firmware will be a patch which won't factory reset the box, correct? And does it matter that the upgrade file is a patch, will it still operate exactly the same as if it were factory reset? You guys should do six files and explain what each file is. I think that would be best and easiest for people. And if you guys label your firmware with a specific number in addition to the date which they can see in their system, it will be easier for them to keep track of what firmware file they're on (ex. android 5.1.2). Unless if this is possible somehow, but I don't see it anywhere. 1) unrooted 5.1 firmware (for upgrading from 4.4) FACTORY RESET (recommended) 2) rooted 5.1 firmware (for upgrading from 4.4) FACTORY RESET 3) unrooted 5.1 firmware (upgrade for existing 5.1 users) this will not factory reset the box (recommended) 4) rooted 5.1 firmware (upgrade for existing 5.1 users) this will not factory reset the box 5) unroot patch (users on 5.1 rooted can use this patch to switch their box to unrooted if they want) 6) root patch (users on 5.1 unrooted can use this patch to switch their box to rooted if they want)

No, 1800e 5.1 is running on the same firmware file as 1900ac 5.1, so all updates and issues apply to both units. And he said the same firmware file can be used on 582 and 380, but they lag upon start up. I only own 1800e boxes though.

This will only work on an SD Card, not a USB stick I responded to your other post on a different thread about this as well. The How to Video explains how to do this from beginning to end.
  23. 1 point
Exactly this. I think it's caused by the hotplug and them reducing the 4 cores down to 2. This is not present when all cores are working. If they were to change the profile from hotplug to ondemand or some other similar profile I think it would work
  24. 1 point
Justin, I think you guys are talking about the same graphics issue I mentioned in my earlier post, but not entirely sure. I'm finding it's present whenever there's fast motion on the screen. If you watch the mygica opening animation on 4.4 for 1800e vs. 5.1 for 1800e, you'll very noticeably see the difference. Whenever there's fast motion it plays kind of jerky. Did you end up looking into this?
  25. 1 point
I'm not here to bash anyone. I just want these issues resolved just like everyone else. I just don't agree with the methods these dev are taking with the product. Justin, I'm going to send you a small video of the startup screen so you can see for yourself how slow the boot process is and it continues onto kodi where I get buffering issues where I should have none. Just to give you an idea, my 380 is working better and faster than my 1900AC and it only has 1GB of ram.
  26. 1 point
Probably for the same reason you don't put your foot to the floor and leave it there when you get your car out on the highway. also, I have never turned my 1800e 'off', or into standby, never saw the need, most media players just turn off the video out anyway, so power saving is pretty much a non issue.

I have been updating alot of ATV1800E to OS 5.1 without problems, remember a few things. 1. Format SD to FAT32 2. Download the file and make sure all full files are unzipped and transferred to SD card. (( Make sure file is fully downloaded )) 3. Manual update required, via pin and power adapter. let me know how things are.

This will help you out after you have upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 not allowed outside link with 3rd party add-ons. Kodi 16.1 is installed with the update so u need to go to the Google play store and get Kodi 17.1.

Use the USB IMG file. disconnect the Ethernet cable and run the update. Just let it run mine took 10 minutes. It will wipe everything from your box which is no big deal as you will be installing Kodi 17 which is always best to do it with a clean install.

Thanks for your post! This is how I am feeling too! I purchased an 1800 My Gica box less than 2 years ago! I paid $200! Here we are now with a box that is obsolete? Not going to purchase another from MY Gica again unless they can put an complete update , not just patches that don't seem to work! To sell something then not support it fully or try to sell you another $200 box ! Sorry not happening and I will be sure to inform everyone I know that MyGica is a bad product!

For a little more money I could have an Nvidia Shield. That will be my next Android media player, assuming I don't just build an HTPC instead. While I know the Raspberry Pi software, Xbian and OpenELEC are based on linux, I still am surprised at how much better they do with kodi than this MyGica 1800e, and for about half the price. This has been disappointing from the start and it seems to get worse. After the 5.1 upgrade it frequently freezes, requiring the power to be removed to restart it, to try again. I blame myself for not doing enough research before purchasing.

Most people do not need root access. One previous benefit to root was having "quickboot" which allowed for a full reset of the system which cleared the cache. We now have a manual way of doing that by pressing the paint brush in the bottom left of the home screen. Only certain people need root, which is why we provide it. The fact is though, more apps work from the google play without issue when it is not rooted.

I finally got around to updating my 1800e, wasn't in a rush as 4.4 was working fine for me but wanted to be able to use Krypton 17 in the future. Anyway, the upgrade wasn't smooth as it stopped half way through and I had to pull the power and reboot the box. The box came back up again and finished the upgrade without any further issues. I also had the same issue when applying the Root patch. So far so good, no problems at all with 5.1 and not getting the black screen issue when waking it up from standby. Good job MyGica! FBN

Ok now I'm starting to get upset. I did some research. Previous versions didn't like having both wired and WiFi connected. So I made sure wired network was not connected. The 1900AC is useless in WiFi as it keeps disconnecting. I have to disable Wifi and reenable it to re-establish the connection all the freakin time. This is the 3rd post on this matter with no response what so ever. Buy another box from another brand. I was hoping 5.1 would make this box more stable but no success so far. I have a 582 that I love, no issue with it but just not as much CPU and Mem as I wished. I went for a 1800. The 1800 running Android 4.4 is the golden years of the MyGica. Flawless. Then I wanted to have another room covered. I went for a 1900AC. That thing is a disaster out of the box. Not reliable what so ever. The only setup I managed to have running relatively stable after countless factory resets is Wired with latest patches. Now I need it to be wireless. I was hoping on 5.1 with no success. The wifi issue makes it useless again and no suggestion or help on the support.

I agree fully "Bring back the nova launcher" I have never been so confused with the stock launcher, it just ads to user frustration IMHO. It makes it difficult to navigate and find settings if troubleshooting what's happening on the box. When I lost Google Play store upgrading from GMS beta firmware I almost lost it trying to find the file manager and related settings, Give people a vote, don't just take it away. Yes, we can download it but it would be 1st prize to have it installed like it always have.
