  1. Appologies on where this was posted. I’ve been traveling and for some reason the posts are not showing me where the proper place that they are on mobile devices.

Have you you tried reinstalling that version of Netflix?

A slight workaround instead of rebooting, for the meantime, can you try holding down the three lines button near the top of your remote for several seconds until a rocket ship appears, then launches off. Wait another few seconds and reopen Netflix.

The last resort may be doing a factory reset, because as I mentioned, I’m not getting this report from anyone else , yet. Not to say it isn’t an issue.

Keep me updated as I want to keep an eye on this. I don’t like seeing any issues with major services like Netflix or amazon prime video.

    Netflix error 5.2

Getting error code 5.2 when I try to play any show/movie until I reboot the box, has there been an updated Netflix version I should be using?

    Hi there,

mid you reboot the box, is itnworking after that? Or does it keep giving the error every time?

I haven’t heard of this being an issue, but will look into it with any adiditional info you give.

    Thanks

Woah, a virus? I have never heard of that. In what program is this happening or is this happening no matter where you are?

Can you post a picture of this?

Great update. Thanks for sharing what's happening. In regard to your P.S. suggestion, does the box consume more power when on vs. being in standby mode? (ie. does leaving the box on 24/7 run up your electrical bill?)

    Frankie,

The units power usage does not change much if on or off. The device itself uses only several dollars of electricity each year.

    I currently own both a 1900ac and an 1800e.

I applied the update to both boxes. On the 1900ac everything updated without any disruptions. On the 100 I had to pull the power just once then it finished the update.

I had disconnected the ethernet on both during the firmware update.

I applied the "root"update as well. However I did not install anything else from the Playstore to apply to the root update.

A silly question if I may. I am just using both boxes strictly for Kodi. Does having root access benefit me in anyway when purely using both boxes for Kodi. I am not into gaming, and I do not use either boxes as a PC. I have also Uninstaller just about everything I could that is not required for Kodi.

Can anyone enlighten me on why I would need root access in this instance.

    Thanks

Most people do not need root access. One previous benefit to root was having "quickboot" which allowed for a full reset of the system which cleared the cache. We now have a manual way of doing that by pressing the paint brush in the bottom left of the home screen.

Only certain people need root, which is why we provide it. The fact is though, more apps work from the google play without issue when it is not rooted.

Guys with "StandBy problem", please try this:

When the box is working (normal screen), try to put it to Standby (with remote), wait 3 seconds and try it to Wakeup again with remote. Did the box woke up? I tried my MyGica several days ago and when I put it to Standby and immediately try to wake up my box, it works. When I put box to Standby and wait more time, it will not wake up. (version 4.4 or 5.1 - doesn't matter, maybe 5.1 working a little bit better)

Postak, thanks for the video. We have sent several to the engineers and they have had them since last week.Hopefully we will have something quickly here guys.

Okay, I thought I would share my experience with this upgrade.

First, the issues that bugged me before this upgrade were as follows:
    - Couldn't reboot device without pulling the power cord.
    - Kodi would often not close, would just hang after hitting exit.
    - Apps I never launched would be shown as running in the app killer.
    - Network was slow to turn on and sometimes I had to power cycle the box to get it working.

After installing this upgrade, then rooting the box with the patch, then using NSTools to enable all processors I find the box runs much better.
I love that I can reboot the box.  Networking comes up pretty much instantly now (I use Ethernet, not WiFi). Kodi has properly exited 100% of the time since installing this update and I don't see any apps listed that I didn't open in app killer.  Overall the box seems faster too.

The only "issue" I have now with the box is that my Harmony remote stop button no longer works.  On the old version I could hit the stop button and the stream would end.  On this version nothing happens.  I have to click OK and bring up the stream menu, then click stop.  Not the end of the world but I find it odd.

I am always happy to see lengthy detailed replies like this one.

We are working on updating harmony so that their remotes will work on our latest devices. Check back with them soon.

Rebooting the device was able to be done based on a rooted program. Now that the update un-rooted the box, I assume you are trying to clear the cache, correct?

You can now do this by clicking the paintbrush on the main screen or holding down the context button for a moment until it shows you a rocket-ship taking off.

Hi guys,  I'm new here.   Just trying to pick up information on the various Mygica boxes before I buy one as I have a collection and I don't need another doorstop.   I am a bit confused as I read one post stating Mygica relies on Amlogic ?    Not to coin a phrase or a disaster but a lot of people relied on the Titanic and it didn't turn out well.   As for android 6.0, this relates to Google and it has higher security which provides more control.....over the various boxes using Marshmallow 6.0  but unfortunately its not the last as Google has their latest version 7.0 which really clamps down on what you can load, what you can't load and Goodle is pretty much in the driver's seat with Google Playstore.     I've been looking hard at the latest MyGica 1900 box and quite frankly I have a hard time getting my head wrapped around the $199 price which compares with the Nvidia Shield Tv which I bought a couple of years back and it came with Marshmallow 6.0 but between Nvidia, Google and me, I often ponder on who owns it.   Sorry but comparing the internal hardware, memory, USB 3.0 and controller vs the remote, I really can't figure out why the price is so high.   Can anyone tell me if there is something about the 1900 that warrants the cost ?   Is there some special apps or software ?

P.S.  This one costs $ 114 Canadian with shipping .......XXXXXXX ...........and it is another box that relies on Amlogic.     The price relates to the 3gb ddr3 mem and the 32gb ram version.

    Deadwood,

I am happy that you are doing your research on these systems. The decision process when comparing purely by specs is at time a pain.

MyGica stands by our products. We go the distance to pay for proper electrical and audio video licensing. We provide support in a number of ways including this forum. We spend a lot of time customizing our firmware, which of course brings it own set of bugs etc. We make sure that we do not back down on problems and we fix them.

When dealing with cheaper no name boxes that advertise powerful systems, please keep in mind that they are almost always using a default android. This means they lack optimization, ota updating ability, support, warranties, licensing. Something that seems crazy to me is putting something into my home that if my insurance company knew about, would void my insurance.

These things that I have listed arent always important to people who want to save a buck, I understand that. For me personally, I want to buy a product that if when I receive it, something is wrong that I can return the product, or at least get some support on it.

Hopefully this helps in your decision process. please feel free to PM me or phone us anytime to discuss anything about our boxes.

  9. Yet another SELF support answer. After fiddling with the config for hours... Here how to get rid of the displaying keyboard or nag.

    In settings

    1. Select Remote and switch it on
    2. Select Keyboard and chose "remote controller methode"

Works with Wired or Wireless Keyboard

Just posting this users post to their own question answering this issue.

    Hi,
I am disappointed first because that I have encountered too many issues with a product that is not cheap for such bugs, then for finding other posts here asking for help without answers or attention,  sometimes people recommends me to go buy something else and quit from MyGica...

well, I'm in Brazil and bought the unit during a tourism trip in Paraguay last May as follows:

    Product Model: MyGica ATV1900AC - SN: MV190015080309

    Buy Date: May 03, 2016

    Place: Victoria Store

Av. Adrián Jara, Shopping Internacional 3 Piso Salón 7,8 y 9

Edificio Miguelito, Ciudad Del Este - PY

    +595 61 508.313

While we are happy to help, the shipping alone on this situation is going to cost a lot of money.

As you have spent some time in our forums, you can see that there were some problems with the 1900's that we have since fixed the majority of issues with this update. Your problem however, seems like it may be hardware related, and is very rare.

While I understand that this is hearsay at this point, buying electronics overseas or from foreign countries is always not recommended. I purchased an iPhone in the USA and brought it to China while living there for awhile and ran into the same problems that you are.

As for what can be done now, if you think that the issue is most likely related to the power pin and you likely won't be sending it overseas for repair, you can try opening it up and soldering the points of the power pin to the board.

The pin being loose is usually related to an impact onto the power pin which dislodges the soldering points from the board. If you are feeling adventurous about trying this, PM me and we can go through it together and I can try to help.

    Hello,

I can not send it back to the store where because I bought it in another country,  shipping cost makes it impossible.
I do not know the MyGica position about replacements, I did contact by private messages, I was asked where I bought the unit, after my answer there was no return from MyGica/Forum guy Justin.

    luciano,

I guess we are missing part of the picture here then in trying to help. You bought this unit in a different country and cannot return it, but you mention how disappointed in our company you are.

What is it that we have done that is upsetting to you? we are happy to try and help fix something regardless of where you purchased this device. If you are in north america and purchased the device elsewhere, this creates obvious problems for returning the product.

Where did you purchase this device from?

How long ago did you buy it?

    Where are you located?

Is KR-32 remote supported? Today I installed some 5.1 firmware (not sure exactly which version), but I can "Power on" this unit only - no other buttons working.  KR-32 with old "4.4.2" firmware was working fine... (I am sure its not box / remote problem)

Edit: If not supported, which firmware (4.4.2) should I download to restore KR-32 remote support?

Please provide more details of your situation.

Was it this firmware from this forum?

    What unit do you have?

Where and when did you purchase this unit?

    My 1900ac is dead again.

The screen goes black and never comes back, tried different HDMI cables, no response at all.
The first time this happened I ended up giving up and the box remained off for weeks, so another try and it worked again (magically?) last week, I did the upgrade to 5.1 firmware from this post, it remained working for about 4 days until today.

some times the box recognises the LAN, orange led turns but nothing more, no image.
2 times the HDMI signal comes out but the box freezes right after Lolllipop logo.

I realized that the power plug is very sensitive, any small movement and all leds flashes, bad contact, short circuit or something here I don't know.

    any clue?

I am very disappointed with MyGica and this product.

    Hello,

Surely something is wrong with the unit. Have you tried having it replaced under warranty yet?

So far the box seems to be more stable with this version. I haven't had any crashes/system freezing this week, I have had no problems with Play Store or any other apps that I regularly use.  The one thing that I was hoping would be availability is Screen Casting from the 1900 to a Chromecast device. I know this isn't an advertised feature of this unit but since this has been a native feature with Android devices since 4.4 I just can't rationalize why it doesn't work with this box. I realize there are other more important things the techs need to work on but if someone from Support could comment on the reason for the unavailability of this function it would be appreciated.

Thanks again for this release, it seems to the best we've had over the past year. Let's hope this means good things ahead for the 1900 and MyGica!

You know, I have never really thought about there being any benefit to casting from the box (which isnt the reason why this might not be working). The moment you mentioned it here being something you wish would be available made me instantly think of how nice it would be to cast a box to my upstairs television without moving the box.

Have you heard of this working with any other models or brands of boxes?

This would actually be a neat feature and I will look into this.

To make a quick comment on you  mentioning about us techs probably having better things to do. I just want to say that while certainly a huge part of our jobs is making sure that the things we are making are working properly, this shouldn't take away from our drive to come up with new ideas or take suggestions from consumers to be ahead of the game.

Can you guys ever make a firmware that doesn't cause big problems for the end user. Maybe send the Chinese here to work on the firmware if there Government controls what they can do over there.  You don't use communist countries that control you internet to set up boxes for North American resale...

    Meagin,

We are constantly striving to improve on our products. We have been growing and getting better on a gradual slope. I am sorry to hear you are so disappointed with our efforts.

If you are having a specific, or more than one problem with the firmware, please make some detailed notes for us. We will fix problems as we learn them. all and all, this firmware has been working quite well IMO.

  16. Hi,

I am going to bump this over to some of our techs to see if this is localized or something that is being reported.

    thank you for your feedback.
