Does anyone have any news when the new firmware will be released?

I seem to be getting plenty of black screen issues on the box. This happens now on a daily basis up to 4 times depending on my usage. Switching between Netflix, XBMC and 4K player and applications when it happens. Tried switching to auto but it persists and everytime I need to pull power on the box. It's a HDMI handshaking issue for sure and I don't think the GMS fw had this issue. When can we expect the fix for this and when is the new firmware due? The moderators have been quiet. Last firmware was 31st of March and stock was 20th of March, there is a lot that can still be fixed, in comparison with my no name MXIII Box, the cheaper box out of the two, it seems to have the better development and are 2-3 revisions ahead on the AML SDK and video codec side. Also Netflix suffers from frame rate related issue on this fw and Facebook and Speedtest applications reinstalls upon every reboot. I have noticed that SPMC offers better playback as it seems there are way less frame skipping and or frame dropping than Kodi. Problem here is that resume play doesn't work on SPMC. I only use UPnP on Kodi or SPMC to view on my TV as there are no frame drops or skips.

Any news on when the "Invalid license, audio cannot out decode to output" error will be fixed on the built in 4K Player when playing Dolby digital files?

Matricom G box and Q box is also Android Kit Kat boxes. MX was released with Jellybean.

Which Android box manufacturers are you referring too?

@lifeisfun - that is strange indeed. Hopefully Justin knows what's going on ... Had November on mine, signed into Google play to make sure I can, and then upgraded to March 31st. Can't be the reset that did it because how are you supposed to prep for customers if you are inclined to do so.

Did you have the November firmware on prior to upgrading? If you update from Feb GMS beta your Google Play will have issues. This is the only work around that I know of for now.

Unable to remove Facebook, upon removal I reboot the box and it just installs again as part of the preinstalled apps.

This is the link I used to help me with my setup. The only part you don't have to do is the MAC address edit and the serial # edit because the MAGTV app already assigns a MAC address automatically once you select "add profile". The other thing I did was to search for the latest version of the MAGTV app,...which is 8.5.1 ,....I did not use the version available in the play store as it is version 8.5 only. Once you add a profile and input the portal info. You may get a black screen,...just hit the contex menu button of the original mygica remote located on the bottom left of the "OK" button. That should bring up a menu on the bottom right of your TV,....scroll and select profile,...make sure the profile you just setup is selected,...then exit the app. The next time you open the app,... It may take about 20 seconds to load,... If it does not load after about 1 minute,.....exit the spp go to manage apps ,.... Select the MAGTV app and force close it and clear cache. Then launch it again,.... I agree fully "Bring back the nova launcher" I have never been so confused with the stock launcher, it just ads to user frustration IMHO. It makes it difficult to navigate and find settings if troubleshooting what's happening on the box. When I lost Google Play store upgrading from GMS beta firmware I almost lost it trying to find the file manager and related settings, Give people a vote, don't just take it away. Yes, we can download it but it would be 1st prize to have it installed like it always have.

Some paid and free video streaming testing: Hulu Plus works fine, just on occasion buffering occurs but this might be due to a newer version Hulu Plus that was deployed.Netflix works OK, still not HD but it should perhaps come in Android Lollipop. Sony cracke works as well as can be expected. BBC Iplayer doesn't work, launches video and says content cannot be played back and prompt to retry on which it still doesn't work,

Flashing to November last year FW is the only way forward. From Feb GMS beta it has Playstore issues.

Seem to run into issues changing from 24hz to 60hz ... Black screen of death. Sometimes it happens randomly, saw it on some of my other AML android boxes too.

I did the same thing this morning and my Playstore now works

Seems not much was done to the internal video codecs, still have issues on playback via 4K player. Audio Codecs that are not licensed etc ... Seriously thought this was going to be the one but development is slow it seems. Other than that the build is pretty neat and we seem to be getting there. Pretty solid experience so far, just wish the speed of improvement could pick up here and that it can be on form like some of my other Android boxes.

Thanks george1448 busy checking now with a few options - seems to have some issues this side but got it working by going back to November update and upgrading it again. I sometimes wait but couldn't resist - new OS is fast!

@Mavr13k Yeah i tried that too - will go back to November 2014 firmware and then GMS and then this .... This sucks ...

Thanks Mavr13k , already tried it, Google play authenticates then says it has no connection. Tried to delete host file additions too.

Rolled back to November ATV1800 firmware, and reapplied the March firmware ... Still no Google Play. Might just have to revert to November and then Feb beta ... And then March 31st ... UGH ... Middle class problems

Does anyone have a working Google Playstore on the 582?
