atv 585 remote not working

bought this box about a week ago, had nothing but problems with the remote,sometimes it works most times it doesn`t,tried pairing multiple times and 1 out of 10 times it works,once paired its fine ,but leave it for a day and try to turn on the box...no go,all i get is a flashing red light on the remote,tried to pull the battery and repair...no go,so now im using my phone remote to control the box...very inconvenient

Have you tried swapping out the battery for a new one?
