MyGica ATV1960 apps fail

I have been having the MyGica ATV1960 for a while now and I bough it exclusively for Netflix, Showmax , DSTVNow and YouTube.

Recently, when trying to play anything other than a trailer, Showmax stops with "Error:  Encoding is not supported (PLA1005)". 

DSTVNow want me to update to a new version. Once updated, I am unable to watch dstv or catchup online on the new version of the DSTVNow app.

YouTube tells me "A new version of YouTube is available. Install it from Google Play."

 I've tried everything, but neither Showmax, DSTVNow nor YouTube can be re-installed, updated or anything else. I've tried resetting the ATV1960 and switching off the automatic updates. Nothing fixes the problems.

And I find no help on the MyGica web either.

I am completely disappointed with the MyGica media player. When are you going to be google certified? If not anytime soon, please provide me with a workaround solution to enable me to us the device optimally.
