Update help

Recommended Posts

I've had this atv1200 box for about 2 months.

I've really had no luck streaming any video from xbmc. It seems to have a problem buffering enough info to play more than about 5 minutes of video and then another 5 minute wait.

It is running Android 4.2.2 with v 12.2 Frodo

I see there is an update available to go to Kodi.

I'd like to start from scratch and install this update.

I downloaded the zip file from the download section and put the sd in the mygica as the video explains but I have no update icon on my screen and can find nothing about update anywhere.

help.

Should I do a factory reset first?

Spent the morning trying to find info on this.

Finally just went ahead and did the factory reset.

After reset the update icon appeared. Yay!!

Inserted my clean new sd card with the downloaded Img update file on it.

Started update and ended up with this

Plug in a USB keyboard that should work. Also try to apply update by selecting on of the "Apply update from ..." Options.

Cant see what option you have, pic quality is a bit poor.

Thanks for the reply.

Was hard to get a clear pic of the big tv.

options are adb, ext, cache.

Which one is the sd card?

I'll go grab a keyboard from work and give it a try.

keyboard gave me control.

Now I've selected apply update from ext and then select sd card.

It doesn't show the update file though.

I pulled the card and the image file is there alone on the card (not in a folder) 313 mb.

persistence, trial and error.

after trying a sd and micro sd card several times. redownloading the file that takes about 2 hours again with still no luck. I dug around and found an old sd card.

The newer cards format exFAT. The older card formats FAT.

It seems to be progressing and is at the install 0/14 popup.

fingers crossed.

success. There's a day of my life I'll never get back.

The remote doesn't seem like a clunky total POS anymore. wow.

Now to set up all the add ons again.

Thank you for posting all your steps I too had the exact same issue, and I resolved it with your tip of using an older FAT Format. on my SD card, the New Updates work like a charm.

Thank you.
