    We plan to use non rooted firmware, so lots of GO apps and streaming apps should work now

    There are other benefits as well. I have been using 5.0.2 for a few months now, and enjoy it way more over 4.4.2

    Will this mean hd Netflix is coming soon? Hehe, I really want this. Also will the new nf app have Dolby 5.1, 7.1 sound capabilities?

  2. Well Justin in my own opinion please push an "official release" out that Mygica deems acceptable.

    Glad and grateful you are looking into it. To honest I have seen regression of the AML codec in Netflix.

    On the K200 boxes the 108K4 firmware was the best for Netflix. I'm sure you will come up with a fix.

    No pressure my side - I cancelled my Netflix account.

    Pushing for an OTA update very soon.

    But we also plan on moving from 4.4.2 to 5.1 in September.

    Justin, moving to 5.1 will allow you to do what upgrades exactly? What is the benefit?

    I had "Flybynight" bring his box to me, and I swapped it for him.

    He was having major Audio Sync issues in Netflix, now when I hooked up his unit up and watched Netflix for 2+ hours, I could not find any audio sync issues. I even asked 3 other co workers to watch it, in case I was seeing things different and they got the same results as me.

    He mentioned to me afterwards that he changed the Playback settings of his Netflix account to this

    I was thinking it may have something to do with the Netflix settings of my account. Which had playback settings set to "High" and Test Participation set to "On".

    I currently have the settings at Playback - "Auto" and Test Participation - "Off".

    I will continue to try reproduce this here, but haven't been able to so far.

    But is there a new firmware release coming in the next week or so? Is lollipop going to be a reality? Will we eventually have hd Netflix app. Are you progressing towards Android TV certification?

    These are all statements you have made over the past year Justin. Will some/all become reality?

  4. A couple of weeks ago my box wouldn't turn on - no lights. While I was in the process of filling out the RMA, I tried one last time and powered it on successfully - but everything was wiped out. It was at this time that I updated the firmware. So I'm not sure what caused the WiFi issue - the power problem, or the new firmware.

    Other than the WiFi, the only other weird issue is that sometimes when I turn the box off in Kodi/XBMC, the screen will flash on and off when I turn it back on. The box is fine if I turn it off at the MyGica Launcher.

    Anybody have any other ideas?

    Edit: I just realized that I may be hijacking this thread. Don't be afraid to tell me that I need to start another thread.

  5. I'm having a similar issue as mahechinjo. After updating my 1800 to the new firmware (update_MyGica_1800-582-380_4.4_20150321), my WIFI has also stopped working. Should I go back to the 11/05 firmware?

    Reverted back to 11/05 firmware ==> no WiFi

    Installed the newest (update_MyGica_1800-582-380_4.4_20150321) firmware ==> no WiFi

    Will any of the beta versions of the firmware remedy my issue? Or should I request an RMA?

    It would be super awesome if someone could help me out. :D

    You need to update to the July 28th beta. This is your problem. Make sure you backup first.

    This is an inappropriate reply from you, verging on rude.

    This thread has customers who have spent hard earned cash on your product, and who are technical and enthusiastic enough to be testing out beta firmware, and spending their time providing you with feedback to help you fix your product, and in hopes that you'll fix their problems.

    There are many responses in this thread that have gone largely unacknowledged, indicating that there are many outstanding issues, and that essentially, there is not an acceptable firmware release for the 1800E.

    I personally, have been patiently waiting for more than three months for a firmware that works, so that I can actually use my box. Had it worked, I would have purchased two more. I've also told two other friends who were interested to hold off on purchase until issues are results.

    I'm offended the implication in your reply that most customers are happy, and that your customer should send in his box, and that he might "blame everything." There are widespread issues with the box and the firmware reported here, including my own. Go back through the thread, list the issues, and provide a status on the investigation of each one, or follow-up individually where you need more information.

    I can be patient with companies fixing technical issues, but I don't have patience for poor support and poor customer relations.

    Two words are used on this post

    1. Broken apps

    2. Streamer

    we have tonz and thousands of Mygica boxes sold none of them have named Streamer + if you are having issue with the box so much we do have warranty for a reason, you can create a ticket send the box to us and we can check see what's the problem and fix it

    One more thing.. make sure its Mygica Box and on next post please bring in the model ID that way we know how to fix the issue before you blame everything

    I think this might be a cultural issue. I don't know James but if he is from China he might be saying something that you are interpreting differently. I work with a lot of Chinese people, and I can tell you that things get lost in the translation. Let's all try and get along. We all want the same final result.

  7. Lovely, so my father is having more difficulties in using this box. Netflix app is broken, I can't even access google play to try and upgrade netflix due to GP being broken too. Xbmc is a hit and miss when turning off device and back on. Movies still dropping frames. Just can't win with this streamer. Give me a nuc any day.

    Don't complain or say anything bad about the product - you'll be given a warning and/or have your post removed. :o:o:o:o:o

    No to mention it's pointless since nothing gets addressed anyway.

    They're already touting the next flagship model. You might get more support if you buy that. :lol::lol:

  8. I might be going back to the GMS beta firmware, had enough of black / blank screen issues.

    Not sure if all development efforts are spent on Android L but in the meantime the frustration is mounting.

    My gf can't even watch without effort and the box now needs to be power cycled for it to work a few times a day.

    This is not OK on any level.

    Thinking of selling it at this stage as the development is just slow as hell. Where is Justin and why is no one giving us feedback on here?

    I'm so sorry you are getting this blank screen issue. I think it must be isolated to specific TVs or HTS. I am (as you know) running the latest beta software and have had no issues with the blank screen. I have it set at 1080p/60 and it works perfectly.

    Have you tried switching TV's? Try also how you boot up your system.

    My system boots up as follows:

    Panasonic TV/Yamaha receiver/MyGica 1800e

    I think boot up sequence might be an issue.

    I wish I could help more.

  9. I have update the firmware on my 1800e to the "20150321" update.

    After doing the update I cannot use Google Play store.

    I get a "Check your connection and try again" message. I have tried clearing the cache etc and tried some trouble shooting but still have the problem. Google play was fine before doing the firmware upgrade.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Ask at support email address for the update. I had this problem and after the fix I reboots and problem solved.


  10. Still not getting 14.2 here. Still says 13.2. Can't find it in applications as someone mentioned. I do see that there is a new logo for xbmc on my main page though. Any solutions to get 14.2 to work?

    Pegged, your almost there. You upgraded the firmware now you just need to select the plugin Quickboot. In there select boot to recovery. Once you are in recovery select factory reset. Scroll down to the word YES and select. It will take a few minutes then pop back to the menu again. Then you select reboot. Your box will reboot back to usual screen. All the apps that were included in the new firmware will now install including Kodi 14.1


  11. The only problem that occurred for me with this firmware upgrade is Google Play store keeps saying "retry" and I have never successfully got it to login since the upgrade.

    Did anybody else run into this problem? How did you resolve it?

    Good to get 100mb Ethernet on this box. That was my biggest problem with the 1800e.

  12. Use the App called Quickboot that is included with the firmware.

    And how exactly do you run anything when you have no video?

    Does that app allow you to map the reboot command to a button, because I can't see that option?

    Sorry, I didn't understand your problem correctly when I posted that. The only thing I can suggest is that I noticed with the fresh install of Kofi 14.1 there is a program plugin included called Frequency Switcher. This looks like it can help with your issue. I don't know for sure because I don't have this problem. My box works fine @1080p-60.

    Try it out. I hope it helps. :D
