Upscaling algorithm

Is there anything wrong with the upscaling algorithm?

If I watch SD content the edges are very jagged.

XMBC videos play just fine. It is about the built in video player.

Same thing happens with any Sopcast videos.

If I try the same video material on my Pi..s XS player, the upscaling is done correctly.
