I am trying to set up my new 195 box.  when i push the okay button to select next for the set up process the led light flashes but it isn't connecting.  the bluetooth button is showing and I waited for 15-min to have it pair but still nothing, so I am not sure why it is not working. Any suggestions?

Try unplugging the devices power and plug it back in to do a reboot.

    It should pair after this.

As I said in my previous post, I bought the device mainly because it has an ATSC tuner which most other boxes do not.

An updated firmware does not make sense for me if I was about to lose the tuner. How about integrating tuner support into the new firmware, to fully support the ATV586???

Integrating the tuner for Android 5.1 is something were trying to do.

However running into some issues because of 1GB Ram.

We did not want to delay our other models getting the Android 5.1 release anymore, so we will continue to try and make it work on the 586 with the tuner.

I agree, as I bought this box mainly because it has a tuner, but I'm also using a few apps like Netflix and also Kodi. The tuner audio sync problem sucks... but I could live with that. But last week all of a sudden subtitles stopped working in the Netflix app, and there's no way to update the app since new versions don't run on Android 4.4. It would be really nice to get a firmware update that fixes at least these issues. Can we expect that anytime soon?

We posted Android 5.1 on Friday for the 585/600

You can use it on the ATV 586 as well, however you will lose use of the tuner.

It would be so much better if the downloads were in their own section, properly documented, and you could simply give us a link to them. Rather than "somewhere" in a long thread.

This is the case for all other downloads currently

If you look we re did the entire downloads section, each model has its own section
You can find the downloads section at the top of every page with a drop down menu.

I will add the new files to the correct section once we upload them.

    Hi Justin:

I just installed the 5.1 img file. It wiped out everything I had on there before, and I'm OK with that. But the Kodi it installed (Jarvis, I think) does not have any plugins. Specifically, Exodus is not on there. This is the only plugin I'm interested in.

Did I take a wrong turn somewhere? Is it supposed to be in there?

If not, do you have instructions on how to add it?

Way at the beginning of this thread you said you were going to organize the downloads section. I am not seeing any evidence of this. It would be useful to be able to go to a section for our particular box and see an archive of the downloads. Sop if the latest one doesn't work, we can jump to the previous one.

    Thanks for your help,

    - AAA

The firmware I posted on Page 17 will install KODI 17.3

PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO WAIT CLOSE TO HALF A YEAR FOR YOU GUYS TO COME OUT WITH UPDATES TO MAKE THEIR BOX WORK PROPERLY AND FUNCTION AS IT'S ADVERTISED TO

You guys should honestly get the mygica ceo on this forum to make some sort of statement. This is all so ridiculous. "we fixed the standby issue the best we can," "we don't know when your box will work as it's advertised to." This is literally insanity. I'd love to see the ceo on here. Please get the ceo on this forum!

I will see if we can offer a non factory reset firmware on the November 2016 Android 5.1 Firmware to be done via OTA.

I am not 100% sure if it was setup to take OTA updates though, since it was a Beta File.

The 5.1 Firmware is BETA only, and not official.
So that is why no OTA.
I will try and make a firmware that does not factory reset though
As I mentioned, after the next release, it will more then likely be the final one.

And I have explained why standby won't work properly on 1800, this firmware is meant for 1900AC, but since the 1800E and 582 uses the same device tree because the chipsets are similar.  It works on the 1800E/582 as well.
As I stated above, these are Beta files, users load them on their own and will be aware of the standby issues
We no longer sell these models, so were not worried about returns.
We did not have this issue after a few updates to our 4.4 Firmwware, so did not experience returns because of the standby issue.
The main goal here was to get a working firmware that will work with KODI 17+

The ATV 582/1800/380 were advertised to work well with Android 4.4, and they did work well as advertised.

The PCB boards are all different, therefore the power is different as well.
AMLogic never made an SDK for 5.1 on the S802 chipsets that are being used on the 1800E/582, so even they cannot help us with this.
We had a similar issue on the ATV 495 PRO and 1900 PRO, and Amlogic had to help us with this to fix it.

Almost no other company out there has released Android 5.1 for the S802 boxes, and not many have even done it for S812 boxes.
We are trying to satisfy our customers by offering them something that works well enough for KODI 17+

If you are still dissatisfied then I am sorry,  this is the best that we can offer as a solution for our older models.
You have to understand, the Android 5.1 SDK from Amlogic is well over 2 years old, and they have zero desire to upgrade it for anyone,  so a lot of modifications had to be done on our side to make it run properly.

So the firmware upgrade from 5.1 to newer 5.1 firmware will be a patch which won't factory reset the box, correct? And does it matter that the upgrade file is a patch, will it still operate exactly the same as if it were factory reset?

You guys should do six files and explain what each file is. I think that would be best and easiest for people. And if you guys label your firmware with a specific number in addition to the date which they can see in their system, it will be easier for them to keep track of what firmware file they're on (ex. android 5.1.2). Unless if this is possible somehow, but I don't see it anywhere.

    1) unrooted 5.1 firmware (for upgrading from 4.4) FACTORY RESET (recommended)

    2) rooted 5.1 firmware (for upgrading from 4.4) FACTORY RESET

    3) unrooted 5.1 firmware (upgrade for existing 5.1 users) this will not factory reset the box (recommended)

    4) rooted 5.1 firmware (upgrade for existing 5.1 users) this will not factory reset the box

    5) unroot patch (users on 5.1 rooted can use this patch to switch their box to unrooted if they want)

    6) root patch (users on 5.1 unrooted can use this patch to switch their box to rooted if they want)

I am sorry but were not making 4 different firmwares and 2 different patches
This will just be to confusing in our downloads page and also for customers.
This is also too much to maintain.

This is how I think we will be doing this

    1. Unroot 5.1 Firmware (Will Factory Reset)
    2. Root Patch (No factory Reset)
    3. Unroot Patch (No Factory Reset)

This is the only option I see that makes sense.

    Hey Justin,

Didn't get an answer from you on my last question (third paragraph above).

And what kind a release system do you have set up? Will the next release also be beta, and then the one after that will be stable? And when do you think the next releases will come out which will merge the firmware and patches into one file that won't reset your box for existing 5.1 users?

I think the easiest way is to release just a non rooted firmware, and then a root patch pile to be installed after.
This patch file wont factory reset.

Our release system will be our downloads section and announcements on the forum.
We re-did the entire downloads section a few weeks ago, it is now organized by model #
This next release will be a stable beta version

The merged release should be ready within a week I think, but do not hold me to it.

Upgraded my 1800E with the newest firmware and the mac address kept changing everytime the box rebooted. I used the recommended patch (update_Mygica_ATV1900AC_5.1_NoNetflixHD_patch_20170517.img) and now not only does the box have a different mac address when it reboots sometimes it will not grab an ip address at all and the only way for it to grab an ip is to factory reset the box.

    I recommend this instead
I have tried over 6 boxes, none have the Mac Address issue.

So far the 1900AC hasn't exhibited any issues other than choppy boot up.  It is way faster than before.  It's very noticeable.  I'll let you know if the on/off issues still exist.

    Keep me posted.

On the 1800 + 582 + 1900ac that I have tried this on I do not get this choppy boot up so far.

  12. 2 minutes ago, madmitch said:

Totally agree.  I thought this was isolated to the 1900AC?  It's not?

This was to fix issues with 1900AC
But the same FW also worked on the 1800
So if it was used on the 1900ac or 1800, you would get the same issues on both.

After the release + patch I posted yesterday, users with 380/582 can use this as well

You guys should merge the files together and have them not reset the box. And you should put the files on a designated webpage so they can be located easily. And put any necessary notes in a description under or beside the file that you want people to know about. I don't see any reason to make the core fix a separate patch. Any person who wants what they paid for will want the core fix in the firmware update file. It seems like the developers always assume these things are no problem for customers because it's easy for them. I imagine the factory reset is put in for new boxes you update prior to putting them on the market. But what about existing customers? I recommend you create two master firmware files, one rooted, one unrooted, for if people want their boxes unrooted for whatever reason. So much simpler. Then put them on a designated webpage. Multiple patches, and searching through 17 pages of a forum to find what you want is just crazy.

    Two files:

    a) Rooted android 5.1 - with the core fix in it and no factory reset

b)Unrooted android 5.1 - with the core fix in it and no factory reset

I will answer all of your questions on this one post.

    1. Their are 2 files because these are just pure beta files.
I got them to make the On Demand patch after the FW was made, as you can see by the 2 different dates
The next update will have the On Demand patch included with it.

Once we have an official release I will put it into a proper section for downloading.
This will only require the user to install 1 update and that's it.

    2. I will get 2 different firmwares made then, one rooted and another unrooted.
The rooted one I will try to make sure it don't factory reset.
I think it will just be a patch file though.

Your comment about so many apps do not work because the box is not rooted, I would have to disagree with.
9/10 users do not even use the box for root features to begin with.
There are a ton of streaming apps that do not work because the box is rooted, HBO GO and Showmax are good examples of this.

    3. These have to be manual update files as they are being left as Beta Files only and not official firmware
However the next release will be our most stable beta firmware, so it will be good to use for pretty much everyone

    4. We factory reset because we cannot transfer apps/settings etc when coming from 4.4 to 5.1
We also factory reset because these are beta files, so they are meant to start fresh.

I do not think we will have another update after the next one, so if you switch all of your boxes to the next update you will be fine.
We have spent a lot of time on these updates for all of our older models to satisfy everyone's requests, so therefore after the next update I do not foresee us releasing anymore updates for Android 5.1 for 1900AC/1800/582/380

Well what can I say... a year today since that update... a full year... very good support MyGica!! Can we expect the ATSC tuner sound sync and guide problem to be fixed soon? Any new firmware in sight or do you need more time?

I understand your frustration with this

I am still trying to figure out something for this and will have a better answer soon.

When I play games on my 1800e on 5.1 they keep stuttering and lagging. This was never present when I was operating on 4.4.

I don't understand why you can't just duplicate the core settings you had on 4.4 over to 5.1? So many things about this seem off. If you guys are worried about the hardware malfunctioning, wouldn't it be more likely to malfunction if all the stress is being put on one core instead of all of them? And what's the point of buying a more expensive box if it operates the exact same as your cheaper models? There's android boxes that sell for $60 that can perform at the same performance as this box given how the specs are limited.

I really hope you guys aren't limiting the performance of the box just to provoke people to buy a newer model. That would be bad news. Or it seems like the developers created a one size fits all 5.1 firmware file, so the cheaper models run the same as the more expensive models. This way it's less work. I don't know if this is true, but I can only speculate. It doesn't make any sense that this problem would start happening on 5.1, which wasn't existent on 4.4. I'm finding there's a lack of transparency with the mygica team too. If no one on this forum can give a strong answer to what's going on with this, why not get a developer on here to explain it fully so it's clear. It honestly makes absolutely no sense that the hardware could handle using all the cores on android 4.4 but can't on 5.1. Also this shouldn't take months to figure out.

Good news is I have a new Beta  FW + On Demand Patch.

I am still waiting on 1 more update that will include the patch + fix IR Remote issue on KODI 17.3 when using return button/menu button and also rename the firmware

    Noticeable changes

    1. Updated to KODI 17.3
    2. Updated Google Play Services
    3. Faster Performance
    4. Fixed Mac Address changing
    5. Turned off click sounds when browsing through the Home Screen + Android Settings
    6. Fixed Screensaver issue when watching a video
    7. Improved video playback
    8. Improved standby issues as best we could. There is not much more we can do about this issue.

The setting of HotPlug in the earlier version was not intentional
I apologize for the big delay on switching it to On Demand.

Antutu Benchmark tests came back at over 37.000 for this FW
+ Geekbench test cames back at Multicore over 1600
This is so far one of our best FWs to date for 5.1 on the 1800/1900AC

The good news is, this also runs on the  ATV 582/380
It lags a bit when your first boot it or reboot the box, but after a few mins it runs smoothly on the 582/380
