I had the same issues with kodi 17 on my mygica. However it works fine on a raspberry pi 3 using xbian and openelec.

Justin, is thee any update to the MAC address changing on these devices after the update?

    Thanks.

xbian and openelec are linux based, so would explain why no issues for you there.
I was only referring to passthrough issues on the Android version of Kodi.

And I do not have an update for mac address changing right now.

    Hey Justin

I've installed 5.1 and this bootpatch on my 1800E and here are some of the problems I'm still having. My unit freezes sometimes when I try to put it in standby mode. When using the KR301 remote, sometimes when I hit the down cursor it boots google play. When I use the RF remote in kodi 16.1 hitting back acts as if I hit it twice and sometimes boots me out of kodi. Tried to put kodi 17 on my 1800E but the Passthrough doesn't work. The audio just cuts in and out and freezes the video even, no matter how I adjust all other audio settings in kodi. Box is set to HDMI Passthrough. Hope this helps.

Ive read Kodi 17 having lots of Passthrough issues

    Have you tried SPMC
    http://spmc.semperpax.com/

I hear SPMC works great with Passthrough.

Hay Justin. I installed the patch.  I used the unit for a few hours and then very  hesitantly put the box in stand by mode.   I'm sorry to say "at least in my personal experience" that the box did indeed go into stand by mode but I was NOT able to power on via the remote or the power button on the box.  HOWEVER, this time around there was no red light.   The green light turned red, once I selected "stand by" and then immedialty went back to green and the green light stayed on with the box in stand by mode.  I know the box went into standby mode because my tv lost the signal as if the unit was off

Will try try again tomorrow after work and see if I can repeat the process.  So at least for me anyways the patch at this point did not work.  Just wondering if anyone has had success or if they have experienced this.

    Thanks.

The remote control you are using, it requires a USB dongle?

Thank you Justin, device successfully patched! I will test it and post a feedback later, in a few days.

Just to recap my ATV1900AC bugs:
    - Loose AC connector, its a physical issue, I need to open the shell and provide a soldering job, need instructions about how to disassemble it, just unscrew the 4 screws is not  enough, the shell looks sealed.
    - Black screen after wake up, need to hard reset the device our unplug-replug HDMI connector to get image back to TV;
    - Image flickering/glitches/noise/bumps/jumps, aleatory behaviour.
    - audio failures: no sound/mute times, aleatory behaviour.
    Looks like HDMI out failure.
    - Google main app won't install in 5.1, I don't know why , fails from Android Playstore and .apk file too. error message: "this app cant be installed on this device".

    thank you again.

    When did you purchase this?

It sounds like you have a few hardware issues with your box.

Great news Justin, can you please provide instructions (or link to) how to install this patch?

    Thank you!

Put onto SD card and then plug into box

Open up Upgrade app on box, and select Local Update

If the update does not appear, then press the 3 lined menu button 10+ times it should then appear.

Once you see the update, click on it and you can press OK to install it.

What about interactive I set my box to 600 to 1608 on interactive and all cores come to life in kodi. Performance works better but it changes itself back maybe due to over heating. However interactive has not caused me any issues at all. If they are worried about hardware issues over time its hardware it is not made to work forever just until it gets upgraded it it runs for 3 or more years then success.

Ok thanks for this suggestion then.

Will see what they say about interactive.

sorry if this has been answered, but I really can't go through 8 pages.

I understand that Netflix HD is an issue. Now is that an issue with people that have legitimate accounts, or some other access? I initially bought this unit for other video apps, but find myself wanting to use Netflix more, especially since my Blu Ray player is starting to crap out on me. I have a high def projector and a 106" screen on the wall, so there is a HUGE difference in HD and non-HD videos.

So, is this new firmware suppose to fix the HD in Netflix? If not, can it be fixed?

We cannot make Netflix HD work just by software, as the Widevine Level 1  key has to be burned into a chipset at our factory.

Once rooted I install NSTools its a free app that lets you change the CPU Scaling Governor. I set mine to interactive its like performance and keeps all cores active but allows the cores to idle lower when not active to reduce heat. When the CPU power is needed they all ramp up. Since i rooted and set to interactive with a min of 600 mhz on interactive the unit is WAY faster.  Hot plug stops cores as much as possible to save power and idles them as low as possible this is not a good setting for a always plugged in and always on android box as the unit uses a power brick and will draw the same power if its on or off.

here is the link for what i use.

here is the description of the governors I spoke of : (There are over 100 Governors )

    8: Interactive:

Interactive scales the clockspeed over the course of a timer set by the kernel developer (or user). In other words, if an application demands a ramp to maximum clockspeed (by placing 100% load on the CPU), a user can execute another task before the governor starts reducing CPU frequency. Because of this timer, Interactive is also better prepared to utilize intermediate clockspeeds that fall between the minimum and maximum CPU frequencies. It is significantly more responsive than OnDemand, because it's faster at scaling to maximum frequency.

Interactive also makes the assumption that a user turning the screen on will shortly be followed by the user interacting with some application on their device. Because of this, screen on triggers a ramp to maximum clockspeed, followed by the timer behavior described above.

Interactive is the default governor of choice for today's smartphone and tablet manufacturers.

    3: Performance:

The performance governor locks the phone's CPU at maximum frequency.

    21: Hotplug:

The Hotplug governor performs very similarly to the OnDemand governor, with the added benefit of being more precise about how it steps down through the kernel's frequency table as the governor measures the user's CPU load. However, the Hotplug governor's defining feature is its ability to turn unused CPU cores off during periods of low CPU utilization. This is known as "hotplugging."

    Thanks for sharing this

I have already passed along your original post on this

So I hope to implement it in our next update.

They turn off 2 of the cpu cores with hotplug (the cpu governor).  If they change the cpu governor to performance or interactive all cores are active and ramp up in speed as needed.  Everything is more responsive...boot up is faster...going into apps or loading or installing apps is faster...with hotplug, the cores are set with lower power and turned off.  Performance on my 1900ac is brutally slow.

    Thanks for the description

I can only ask and see what they say, based on this info you have given.
