Locks up when exiting kodi

When I try to exit kodi I get the exit screen which I select but then it freezes up. Have to disconnect the power.

What gives?

Have you tried hitting the HOME button on the remote to take you back to the Home screen?

From my experience shutting down XBMC / KODi seems to be a slow process. It can sometimes take a few minutes for the software to close. This seems to be an issue with XBMC / KODI and not be box specific as I have encountered it on other brands aside from Mygica. Try waiting a few minutes after you select the exit button to see if it closes on its own.

I get into this kind of issue every now and then.

I wait a few minutes then I hit the HOME button.

If you can get there you can restart the box and let Android close the app. 99% of the cases this has worked for me.

For the rest... I just had to unplug the power cable and keep my fingers crossed the OS/Kodi would not get corrupted.

Normally it doesn't happen.
