cant reinstall kodi

hi there.,  i recently purchased a atv 586

i uninstalled old kodi version

now that i go into play store to download it, says its installed.

i then tried to do it manually with usb drive, but getting some kind of parsing error

the app is also no where to be found on mygica app store.

please help.

I did that and hosed the F out of it.  Had to factory reset the thing and bam back up.  I am new here and I like the ATV586 switching from an STB Emulator to the live TV tuner on the home screen is fast and reliable and the STB emulator stays running and switches back fast!.  Try a reset procedure and see if it comes back.  From there I just left kodi alone.  I notice if I removed KODI 16 it somehow breaks the Krytpon 17 fork these quys slapped together.   I wanna hack the loader and remove /replace that kodi icon with the STB eumulator but its uphill.

You are getting the Parsing Error because you are trying to install Kodi 17.3 onto your 586

Since Kodi 17 came out, it only works on Android 5+

The 586 uses Android 4.4

I only purchased this from shoppers drug mart about 6 weeks ago with the hopes of getting kodi as its displayed on the box.

please tell me how to resolve this or did I really just waste $140 buying this?

its not like it was $40 .  it was $140.

I purchased this thinking it was great quality as it was somewhat over priced.,

can I trade it in for a better one that WILL run kodi?

please advise of solution.
