Youtube (app+wweb) and XMBC stuck at 720p

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am running the latest firmware 4.2.2 and Gotham 13.1 XBMC on an ATV1200. I have TV 1080p, connect via HDMI.

i was wondering why I am not able to change the resolution in Youtube (app + web) and XBMC to 1080P.

I changed in Mboxsetting to 1080p but it is just stuck at 720P.

This is due to the ATV 1200 being built on a 720P Android Kernel.

Changing the output to 1080p in the settings menu will only upscale to 1080p.

I am running the latest firmware 4.2.2 , If I flash beta kernel 4.2 1080p, I will get full 1080p output, not upscale?

Flash kernel 1080p over the latest firmware 4.2.2 or downgrade to 4.1 ?

Beta kernel, it unstable. And when I want stable, how I can come back offficial kernel 720p ?

This beta 1080p kernel firmware is meant to be used on 4.2. So no need to downgrade to 4.1

Right now it is just a beta file, so therefore not 100 percent stable. And yes you will get 1080P output, not 1080p upscale

And if you want to go back to the official 720p kernel, its just a matter of flashing back the SPI and Firmware files for this.
