External HDD

Hi

I have an Toshiba stor.e TV external HDD connected to my ATV582 via USB

The device can access the HDD, but it disappears after about a minute.

It works for a short while and then I have to shut it down and restart it to access it again.

The HDD has an external power source, so I don't think power is the problem.

Has anyone had similar problems?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can they be powered through USB without the external power source?

It has got it's own power supply.

It is actually a standalone media player, but I use it as an external drive and it works fine when connected to my bluray player

This might be the issue. The mygica might not being recognizing it as an external hard drive.

Is it formatted to NTFS or FAT 32?

I wil have to check, I tried ntfs apps also.
