Choppy and pixelated video

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of tv shows and movie files ( MP4 and avi ) that play great on my tv's usb port but are choppy and pixelated on the mygica1800E.

I tried playing them on xbmc, through plex app, and 4K movie player all are the same issue.

My video is set to 1080p 60 but I also tried all compatible settings.

I just bought this yesterday and first thing I did was install the latest firmware found on the sticky page.

Any way to fix this issue?

after calibrating my TV the pixilation is not as noticeable but the stuttering continues. Happens about once every 10 seconds or so.

It would be probably good idea post details on how is the file encoded.

No I didn't see that. I will try it out tonight.

Should I have applied a specific patch before installing the 11/05 patch? I just went straight to 11/05 without applying any previous updates. I am not sure what version mine came with but I just bought it a few days ago. Would the 11/05 patch allow me to upgrade if I had the wrong previous update?

I didn't notice any changes after the update so it's hard to tell.

seems the skipping issue only happens with .avi files. They all seem to be divx if that helps. mp4 files are smooth.

Tried the frame drop patch and that did not help.

XBMC has problems playing Divx, so that might be the issue.

As for updates, you can go straight to the 11-05 update as long as you had anything after the 07-24 update.

Only the patch file will work with 11-05 firmware.
