1080p upscaling

Since 520E is running on a native 720p kernel and only upscales the output to nominal 1080p.

Would it be better just to select 720p output and let the TV automatically upscale it 1080p?

I'm sure the chip and the algorithm used in a high-end TV fully beats the "economical" AML chip used in the 520E box. Does this make sense?
