I used pc with windows7, does this make a difference?

Hey guys So I tried to upgrade my atv495pro from 5.1 to 7.1 recently with disastrous results! My device now will not reboot! It has power put displays black screen. I have followed the above process point to the point with no success! Any help will be appreciated.
