  1. I am getting the exact message "You are not authorized to read this forum" ......??
  2. I got fed up of just waiting around for the new firmware and picked up a HP Stream Mini,...it was the blue one that was on sale at the Microsoft online store for $ 197.00 it comes with Win 8.1 64 bit OS,....a $ 25.00 MS store gift card,...200GB of One Drive cloud storage,.....etc. I did end up upgrading the stock RAM of 2gb to 8gb and also upgraded the stock 32gb ssd to 256 ssd. This box now replaces my 1800e !,.......The HP Mini is a far superior media box than the 1800e in my opinion and it runs smooth as silk with no issues what so ever. I don't think I will buy another Android OS device again.
  3. Justin, my TV is a Samsung DLP 750. I find when turning the 1800 on plus TV and my Denon receiver the TV does not pick up the signal until I disconnect power and connect it again. Just started with this new firmware. With old firmware would not pick up 1080 p with this Tv but that has now been fixed with the new firmware. Try powering up your 1800e last. First power up the receiver,....select the correct input,....then turn on the TV and select the correct input. then power up the 1800e. what you may be experiencing is "HDMI hand shake" protocol,....every device handles HDMI a bit differently and sometimes the solution is as simple as just changing the power up order of your devices. Worth a try anyway.
  4. I have had this issue since I got my 1800E back in Sept 2014 so I'm not sure this is a software issue because it hasn't changed with all of the updates for my box between now and then. I have my 1800E plugged into a Yamaha RX-A3030 receiver and then from the receiver to a 46" Sharp LCD that is about 6 or 7 years old now both with an HDMI cable and the receiver is set to "through" for resolution and the tv is 1080P. I get a message on my TV that says "input signal not compatible" when turning the box on from standby and/or from switching back and forth inputs on the receiver or if I turn the TV off and then back on. Sometimes I can switch the input on the TV and then back to fix it, sometime if I switch the input on the receiver back and forth it will fix it, sometimes unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in fixes it, but unplugging the power from my 1800E and doing a cold boot always fixes it. I think it's a hardware compatibility issue not a software bug. Is there any way the software could be made so that the box shuts down completely so that when you turn it on it boots from scratch instead of going into a standby when you power off where it leaves the USB ports outputting power and does a quick boot when you turn it back on? I have the same issue as you using a Yamaha RX-A2020 and Panasonic plasma 1080P / 3D tv. But if I set the 1800e output to 1080i/60 the black screen issue goes away. I also set my Receiver to upscale and re-process.
  5. Justin,....please also have them look at the video dropout issues when the box is set to 1080p/60. I thought this issue was supposed to be fixed in this firmware.
  6. I also still have the "black screen" video signal dropout issues when the box is set at 1080p / 60. Had this issue also with the previous firmware upgrade,...I was really hoping that issue would be resolved within this upgrade. That being said,...my home theater system setup allows me to apply a solution to this issue. My 1800e box is connected directly to my Yamaha RX-A2020 via HDMI cable,....and then from my receiver to my TV. I set the 1800e video output to 1080i / 60 and set my receiver to re-process and upscale to 1080P,...... since my receiver has a much superior video processing chip than anything found in these Android media boxes,.....it is the better way to go and my video dropout issues fixed. Hopefully this issue along with other bugs reported by all of us will be addressed in the next firmware upgrade.
  7. This is the link I used to help me with my setup. The only part you don't have to do is the MAC address edit and the serial # edit because the MAGTV app already assigns a MAC address automatically once you select "add profile". The other thing I did was to search for the latest version of the MAGTV app,...which is 8.5.1 ,....I did not use the version available in the play store as it is version 8.5 only. Once you add a profile and input the portal info. You may get a black screen,...just hit the contex menu button of the original mygica remote located on the bottom left of the "OK" button. That should bring up a menu on the bottom right of your TV,....scroll and select profile,...make sure the profile you just setup is selected,...then exit the app. The next time you open the app,... It may take about 20 seconds to load,... If it does not load after about 1 minute,.....exit the spp go to manage apps ,.... Select the MAGTV app and force close it and clear cache. Then launch it again,.... It should work. http://www.htpcguides.com/setup-android ... ator-iptv/
  8. I finally got the MAG-TV app to work properly,....channels still freeze for a few seconds every now and then. Does anyone know how to get rid of the horizontal white bar that is present on all video when using the internal player ??. If I use another player,... I don't get the bar but I also don't get the preview window to work while surfing the IPTV channels.
  9. If you are going to use a USB stick,....I would use a small one perhaps between 2gb to 16gb (max),....same with an SD card.
  10. I don't see why not,...you will just have to point to the file on the USB stick,...that being said I have always believed that it is good practice to disconnect all USB connected devices before applying a firmware upgrade. Personally I would stick with the SD Card method.
  11. Try the MyGica store version of Mag TV. I guess they have not updated the Play Store version yet. Thanks Justin,.....I will un-install this app and install it from the MyGica store to see if I can get it going again.
  12. KLF, Mine did the same thing the first time too....all you gotta do is exit the app (FORCE STOP if need be) and open it up again....you will see that yellow bar appear again and it should work perfectly again, just make sure you did your settings right. Mavr13k Good to know,...I will have to play around with it again tonight after work.
  13. My internet package is also 250mbps and the new firmware has increased my DL speed drastically from about 37mbps to 97mbps,....checked it a couple of times just to make sure. Are you hard wired or using wifi ?,......when you check your internet speed with a PC or laptop,.....do you get better results,....if the results are the same as with your 1800e then it may be an issue with your network,...router,...modem,...service provider.
  14. Thanks for the reply Mavr13k. The first attempt on the new firmware upgrade was executed via the OS "software upgrade" app built in,....strange thing is the upgrade went fine,....it re-booted as usual and when everything came back up Kodi was not installed and everything looked exactly as before the upgrade. I checked the build version to make sure it did indeed upgrade,...and it showed the new build numbers. So I launched the MAGTV official Android app and it now worked correctly with the video preview window and all !,....I was thrilled !. Then I did a internet speed test and again was thrilled to see my download speed increased from 37mbps to 97mbps !. then I launched XBMC to check the build version and it was still 13.2 Gotham,....so looks like for me the firmware did install correctly with the exception of Kodi only. So I decided to just do a fresh clean install via the reset button & power plug method. This time the firmware also installed correctly including Kodi,...etc. Then I used the "Backup" program add-on to restore all of my previously saved XBMC add-ons,...user data,...settings,...etc. This also went smoothly and I was able to get back all my add-ons,...etc. installed into Kodi. Then I launched play store to re-download the apps that were whipped out due to the clean fresh install,.....installed MAGTV again inputted the portal info. and as soon as I backed out,....I just see a black screen. Everything else seems to work just fine.
  15. finally got it to update correctly by doing a clean fresh install again. now have kodi but my mag tv emulator does not work anymore. was working fine before. Anyone else with this problem ?
