Direct to Modem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am stumped by this. Could be my ignorance or could be a problem.

If I ethernet connect our mygica box to our router then it seems to connect fine. However, when we ethernet connect our mygica box to our modem we don't get any internet connection. It looks connected but we get a message that there are network problems and cannot get any internet access.

Anyone have any idea what is up with this?

Thanks...Tom

It could be that the router is setup to provide the IP addresses and modem is not. If you want to connect direct to the modem, you will need to turn on the DHCP server option on your modem and turn it off on the router.

Sounds like your modem is on Static when it should be on DHCP.

Or your modem is set to Bridge mode
