IR codes

Recommended Posts

Some questions about IR codes as I'd really like to get my box working with my URC remote control. Its setup program has no data for MyGica equipment.

1. Does the ATV1900AC have an inbuilt IR receiver or is that functionality only in the USB dongle for the included remote?

2. Are there IR codes that replicate the RF codes on the included remote? (Looks like the only IR code on the included remote is the power button.)

3. Will other MyGica IR remotes work on the ATV1900AC? If so, which one would be a good choice to teach the codes to my URC?

4. Does anyone have a set of MyGica IR codes? I'll take whatever format I can get.

5. Will the ATV1900AC support third party USB IR remote controls? If all else fails I can buy one of these and teach its codes to my remote.

- Yes the 1900 has an IR Sensor. It uses the KR60 Remote Code.

The KR20 Mag IR remote also works.

- I have attached the KR60 Remote Code Mapping. It is the remote IR codes

- There are so many other third party USB remotes, but they are usually not IR, they work via 2.4GHZ USB. Majority of these remotes work with MyGica

I hope this helps

If there is anything else you are looking for let me know

All of our remotes are also listed in the Harmony remote database in case you plan to use a Harmony remote.

Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply Justin. I'll have to do some research on getting Harmony codes into my URC. Not sure if that will be possible. I know it will import Phillips Pronto codes but not sure about Harmony.

I don't suppose you have the hex values of the KR60 codes?

If necessary I'll buy one and use my remote to learn from it.

True - they contain a single hex code. What I'm looking for is a much longer string containing all the necessary data to construct the signal. I found a set of codes for the ATV1800e online which almost work in that every key is sent twice. Looks like they were learnt incorrectly before they were posted.

The format I'm looking for would be something like this which is the code for the cursor down key that I already found:

0000 006D 0022 0002 0156 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05FF 0156 0055 0015 0E52

Sorry but I do not have this string of HEX code that you are looking for.

No problem. I have solved the issue of using my IR remote by purchasing a Flirc. I now have all possible Kodi keyboard commands mapped to my remote.

Good to hear.

Can you post a link to what you bought in case others want to do the same thing.

Markn,

I am trying to have a Harmony Remote control my MyGica ATV1200 (which is in an AV closet). I tried using the KR60 remote to train the Harmony but it didn't work. Harmony tech support is asking for the Pronto Hex Codes to do the programming. Since you have already determined all of the codes for each command, would it be possible for you to post the Excel file with the codes to save me from purchasing a Flirc and replicating what you have done? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have supplied Harmony what you are looking for over a year ago.

They updated there Database. So I am not sure why it is not working for you.

As for Pronto Hex Codes in Excel, sorry but we do not have this available.

Hi Justin,

I provided Harmony with the same information, but they said it is insufficient to get it working. They are looking for the hex codes which are each close to 100 digits long. MyGica support said that they have now provided Harmony with the hex codes for the newer models of the MyGica, and as of this morning, have provided them for the ATV1200. I will test it this evening to see if it is working.

Thanks.

We have been speaking with Harmony about this as well the last couple days.

As they contacted us.

I currently do not have the exact Hex codes they are looking for.

I cannot get them for a few weeks either.

Will have to follow up with them on this once I can provide them exactly what they are looking for.

Actually, I have been emailing with someone else in MyGica tech support. He said that they have provided Harmony with the codes for the ATV1800, which he said would be the same as the ATV1200. I noticed that Harmony had listed the new ATV1900 in their database. I went and purchased an ATV1900 this morning and will check this evening to see if it works with the Harmony codes as they have programmed it. Will let you know. Thanks again for your help.

I tried my new ATV1900AC with the Harmony (which had the ATV1900AC listed in their database), and it didn't work. I spoke with someone in Harmony tech support who has escalated it to a specialist. I'm not sure why Harmony had it in their database, or whether or not MyGica has sent the codes for the ATV1900AC to them. I noticed the MyGica remote may use RF as well as IR, because it worked through a wall. I'm hoping that between MyGica and Harmony they can share the information to allow the MyGica box to be controlled with the Harmony remote as well. I will keep you posted on what happens.

I will continue to speak with Harmony to get this fixed.

I just cannot do anything currently till my team gets back from Chinese New Years.

Thanks Justin. I have a call scheduled with a 2nd level Harmony tech to see if this can get resolved. I'm not sure why they can't just program the codes directly into the Harmony system. I'll ask when I speak to him. Will keep you posted.

The contact I spoke with last year at Harmony told me the Remote Code layouts we provided them were good for them to use.

Which is the exact same one I posted in this thread already.

Will try and follow up with them myself as well, but let me know how your conversation goes as well.

Hi,

Unfortunately, my call with level 2 support is a process of him entering a bunch of codes for me to try. None of them has been working - other than the power toggle. He is working with the Harmony engineering team and I have another call scheduled for this evening, presumably to go through the same process again. I asked him to suggest that the engineering team procure a MyGica ATV1900AC directly and get it working with the Harmony in their labs, rather than use me as a guinea pig to try a bunch of things. If you guys have provided them with the codes, it is really unclear to me why they can't just program those in and have it work.

I have a high level personal relationship with someone at Logitech which I may pursue if this endless iteration continues.

Thanks again for following up.

We have provided them the codes.

So not sure why they have not done this yet

Will send a follow up email

I have not heard anything back from Harmony yet. The tech was surprised because it looks like the remote for the ATV1900AC works via RF. It was able to control the device through a wall. I'm not sure if you/MyGica have sent Harmony the RF codes, or IR codes, but hopefully, they will get it working soon.

I will keep you posted. Thanks again.

The 1900AC uses the exact same IR Codes as the 1800/582.

Since the 1900 comes with RF Remote, I cannot send these codes to Harmony.

However the 1900 still has an IR Sensor built into it, and the KR60 Remote and all of its codes will work on it.

Thanks. I checked with Customer Service at Harmony and they said "they are still working on it". I spoke with my higher level contact there and he said he will have the head of Harmony contact me to get this resolved. I will update you after I speak to that person. I'm not sure why this is so complicated.

Hi All,

I haven't been here for a while because all my needs were taken care of and I was happy.

I found some Pronto codes for the KR60 remote but they never worked very well so it looks like they were recorded with a lot of noise. Fortunately the power toggle code works well. I put that code into my remote.

My MyGica boots directly into Kodi so all I needed then was a remote keyboard to control Kodi. I use a FLIRC for that.

Let me know if you want me to post the Pronto codes I do have.

I also think I read somewhere in a 1900 AC firmware release note that the KR60 remote wasn't supported in that release. Not sure if that was for an early version of the firmware or whether that will be the case for all firmwares from now on.
