Hi Markin,

I could definitely use your help. I have been unable to get my Harmony to control my 1900AC (or 1200) other than the odd time a power toggle works. I also tried training the Harmony remote with the MyGica remote directly, but I still get no response from the Harmony.

I have spoken to a very senior person at Harmony. He said that Harmony has entered all of the codes received from MyGica, and that they have some other Harmony users with MyGica boxes who haven't complained. He is therefore concluding that the problem is specific to me. I have a second Harmony which I am going to try to see if the problem is replicated.

I thought your FLIRC helped you capture the actual codes from the remote so you could program those to your URC remote. If you could post (or send) those codes, I could forward them to Harmony to see if they match up with what they have received from MyGica.

I have used the KR60 remote (from the 1200) to control the 1900AC box so it seems to be working fine.

Hi Markin,

I was looking at the FLIRC website to try and understand that product.

Can I plug a FLIRC into the MyGica 1900AC and have the Harmony IR emitters send codes to that, and it will control the 1900AC?

I'll have a look around tonight to see where I put the Pronto codes I found. They're a bit dodgy as they often get interpreted as double presses. Not very useful when every arrow goes two to the left or right. As a result of this I found an alternative solution.

Kodi accepts keyboard commands for a large number of functions so you can plug in a USB keyboard and have a single key press perform any function that you need to go through a menu for using the normal MyGica remote. So a keyboard allows you to press a single key for pause, subtitle, fast forward etc.

FLIRC is a USB dongle that emulates a keyboard and sends a keystroke when a particular IR code is received. This is programmed using the FLIRC software. All you need to do is create a new device on your remote using any IR code set and use the FLIRC software to map those IR codes to a key press.

Since a FLIRC only pretends to be a keyboard, it won't power on the MyGica and it won't start Kodi. However, the Pronto code I have for the power toggle does work most of the time so that's programmed into my remote. I also use a Kodi loader which automatically starts Kodi when the MyGica starts up so that's not a problem either.

I am going to take one more shot with another Harmony remote I have to see if a new setup has any different results. That's what the Harmony guy suggested.

If not, I will get a FLIRC usb. It would be great to get the power toggle IR code as I have only been able to get it work through the Harmony intermittently. If I am able to program the FLIRC to do direction keys and OK key, then I don't necessarily need to have the MyGica boot straight to Kodi as I can select it from the home screen, can't I? Either that, or I will have to find a Kodi loader like you use.

Can I program the FLIRC to accept IR inputs from the Harmony to emulate the functions of the MyGIca remote?

I don't think you'll be able to use the FLIRC to start Kodi as I don't know if Android on the MyGica will respond to a USB keyboard. Plug one in and experiment would be my suggestion.

The MyGica thinks that the FLIRC is a keyboard so if Android allows you to navigate with keyboard arrow presses then you're good.

I wouldn't program your remote to use any MyGica codes to talk to the FLIRC as the MyGica may respond to the MyGica IR code as well as the FLIRC so weirdness will ensue.

You need to program the FLIRC to use an entirely different set of IR codes, e.g. a Sony DVD player (assuming that you don't have a Sony DVD player).

A list of keyboard commands that Kodi will accept can be found here http://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls.

For example "x" is stop. If you have a keyboard plugged in and press the x key, playback will stop.

If you have a FLIRC, you set up your Harmony to emulate a Sony DVD player remote and tell the FLIRC that when it receives the Sony Stop button IR code it should send an x. Your remote stop button now stops playback on Kodi.

Thanks Markin.

I will try these codes out. The very strange thing is that the second Harmony controls the MyGica box without a problem. I'm not sure why that is happening but I have a call with the Harmony person later today.
