ATV 1800 - Strange popping, static noise via HDMI sometimes

Hi Justin,

Sometimes when I use XBMC and /or MX player I occasionally get a popping noise and followed sometimes by a static noise? Mx player is setup to software decode connected via HDMI. It happens randomly on any file type.

Is there something I can do on my end or do I have a faulty unit? I have muted the SPDIF in the meantime and rebooted to check if it solves my issue. Will report back.

Amlogic is still new so anything can be expected.

Have you tried Hardware decode instead of Software decode?

Also trying a different HDMI cable?
