Can I connect an external hard drive (500Gb.) to my ATV 585?

I connected an external hard drive (500 Gb.) to my ATV 585 but it can't configure the drive. It seems the hard drive is continuously restarting and Android doesn't do anything.

Some hard-drives brands is causing problems for the boxes. If this software doesn't help please email support@mygica.tv with the hard drive model number.

You were right. The problem was an outdated firmware. My box had already installed the one you recomended (20150327).

Some days later the system informed me about a new version (20151208). After installing it my ATV 585 could read my external hard drive.
