Recommended Posts

As usual , when you update my 1800E , freezes and tupit .

I believe that a new recovery.

Justin, I was silent . But I think that the problem with the installation of updates, and other users .

Is it possible to update the Recovery?

If such an opportunity , to lay out, please , recovery update file here.

For example, recovery from TWRP availble for ATV1800E ?

I totally agree with his comment and suggestion.

Current recovery ROM Lollipop 4.4 is kind of confusing even for experienced Android users when it comes to upgrade ROM. It would be beneficial if this recovery can be updated to TWRP.

Hi,

Before I attempt any downloads could the moderators confirm that an official update firmware dated 2016-03-23 exists and it is for 1800E ?

If it is confirmed then could the file also be place out of the Beta thread and in the area for official releases to avoid confusion.

Thanks

Walter

Well got an automatic update that failed, now my device is in recovery mode and sadly the volume up/down buttons on the remote do not work to allow me to make any selections.

Downloading this update file to put on an SD - hopefully it will work. Download is super slow though

I forced an OTA manual update today and here are my experiences.

- Download slow, about 15 - 20 mins.

- First download failed, as there was something wrong with file when checked.

- Second download worked.

- Upgrade froze with Android Robot, which looked distorted and negative image.

- Waited for about 20 minutes and pulled the plug.

- Plugged back in and it booted up with Android Robot, but was not distorted and looked normal.

- After upgrade, screen was blank. But mouse worked on blank screen.

- Rebooted again and came up normally.

- On home screen noticed the new icons power button and broom (lower left) and network connection indication in lower right (I'm using ethernet).

- Broom icon worked to clean.

- Power icon worked to shut down (standby), but was not able to turn on again with remote.

- Pulled plug and plugged in again, booted up normally.

- Tried power icon again and worked to shutdown to standby.

- This time it powered up again with remote, but home screen was dim and flashing.

- Pulled plug and plugged in again, it booted up normally.

- Tried power icon again and worked to shutdown to standby.

- Powered up again from remote and finally came up normally!

- There is a nag in the lower right corner of the home screen, something about holding down the ok button to change icons, it won't go away!

I think I won't bother with the new power icon, seems to be flaky.

This wasn't a very good OTA upgrade experience, first time it gave me so much trouble.

Are there any release notes for this update? (did I miss another post?)

e.g. Android version, bug fixes, Kodi version, etc....

& why was this firmware update not posted under the Download sections in order for the community to be aware of this new firmware?!

Could you please post or provide a link to where I would see those details? Thanks.
