I see that there is new firmware for ATV520E...Just wondering if there are new updates for ATV 520?

I don't know if it's related, but Netlix doesn't work anymore, despite the fact that the app was recently updated…

The ATV520 and 520E are the same unit. Only difference is the ATV520E has an external wifi antenna. So therefore use the same files

Just make sure if you are upgrading, to upgrade the proper files based on the Android OS that you are on, either 4.1 or 4.2

If you have never upgraded your ATV 520, then you will be on Android 4.1

I just bought the ATV520E and I'd like to be able to install the Gotham version of XBMC.

What download files do I need (and their location, please) to do this from what I am assuming is the Android 4.1 firmware since I have not yet done any updates to this new box.

You only need to follow the steps I listed

Because the rest of the steps have been done for you already. Your box is able to install unknown sources by default. That is why it is not listed in the menu.

Android 4.4 is not available for the ATV 520/520E.

I have re-installed the Os and everything on my unit and now Digitally Imported crashes every time.... Not happy.

How can I fix this and why would it stop working after I install the OS again?

Hi,

I've followed the instruction from the website but it doesn't work. Basically what i've done is as below: -

I'm using mygica ATV520 and running on 4.1.2

1. formatted the SD card

2. downloaded firmware from viewtopic.php?f=94&t=1665

3. unzipped the file and place them at SD card root

4. hold upgrade button and power up the tv box and it booted into recovery menu, video in youtube mentioned that it should update automatically

5. tried to browse for *.img but cannot find anything

6. copied the firmware to USB drive and plug it into my tv box

7. browse for *.img from USB drive and able to see the img file

8. update the img file via USB from recovery menu

9. installation completed and rebooted

10. then my ATV520 is bricked

I'm still able to boot into recovery menu by shorting the U13 chip leg 2-3, but I dont know what to do next when i'm in the recovery menu. Need advice.
