Issues with new ATV 1200 Smart TV Box

Well, we got our new ATV 1200 Smart TV Box hooked up to our HDTV, but we're experiencing several problems:

1. The factory default setting for the size/scale of the screen does not fit on our TV properly; so, we adjusted the size of the screen down to 92% (that's what appears to work best), but every time you turn the ATV 1200 off and then back on again, the setting is lost and has to be done again and again. Is there anyway to get the unit to make this setting change permanently?

2. I purchased a TV episode from the Google Play Store, to watch, but nothing happens, except, eventually, an error message indicating that the Google Play Store has stopped working. And then all the various "movie viewer" apps, that are preloaded on the system freeze up. How do you buy and then actually watch a Google Play Store TV episode on the ATV 1200?

3. The remote controller is quite glitchy. It has frozen up on us several times.

4. The 'shift' key on the accessory keyboard (which we bought bundled with our ATV 1200) does not work.

Overall, our first impression is that we're not impressed at all. Can anyone offer some solutions...besides returning the unit and going with another system, such as the Apple TV?
