NFS Shares not working

Recommended Posts

I've been using an AppleTV2 with xbmc for several years, and I've always used NFS for accessing my NAS since it has less overhead than Samba. I am unable to get XMBC on the 582 to see any of my shares using NFS. Is this a known issue, and if not is anyone else having the same problem?

SMB shares seem to be working fine, but I would prefer to use NFS if it is supported on the MyGiga box.

mygica 582 - 11/05 firmware with both patches - using the included version of XBMC, but this is the 3rd firmware I've tried and none have worked with NFS for me.

BTW, I am also looking into any change in XBMC's handling of NFS, but wanted to ask if it's a MyGica problem before I spend too much time debbugging my NAS.

Solved!

It seems the appletv was using a standard NFS port, but XBMC running on android uses a non-privileged port ( makes sense since it's not running as root.)

The solution was to add 'insecure' to my NAS's NFS options.

(Is there anyway I can change the subject line to indicate this is SOLVED ?)
