Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4

Recommended Posts

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 TV, it's native resolution is 1920 X 1080 and refresh rate 120Hz. The max for the non-4K seems to be 1920 x 1080 and Refresh of 60Hz.

Do I have it wrong? Should it be set to the 60Hz , if not can/will there be an update to support the 120 Hz refresh rate?

120Hz is the refresh rate for motion of your television, so basically how quickly frames are displayed when watching tv.

To give you a better understanding, read this. You will see there really is not much of a difference between 60hz, 120hz and 240hz.

http://www.rtings.com/info/what-is-the-refresh-rate

The resolution setting you are seeing of 1080P-60HZ is the frames per second, not refresh rate. so 1080P-120HZ would not exist as a setting.

The 2 most common fps used is 60FPS and 24FPS. 24FPS is what is used for Blu Ray 1080P.

And as far as I know only, 24FPS, 30FPS and 60FPS is all that is offered.

Just stick with 1080P-60HZ setting and you will be fine.
